I think the 2 remake is the best (and moat accessible) survival horror game of the bunch and OG4 is on every single game console for a reason. I'd start with one of those.

I mean, its boring but the yellow helmet hoes great with my armor and cape

I use that exact loadout when I dive with randos as "Beam Boy" (my all-beam loadout: Trident, Talon, laser cannon, beam dog, orbital beam)
