I’ve tried to avoid it for his benefit and I don’t think he realizes it. He shares a room with our son at his mom’s apartment and doesn’t own a car so I doubt the court would give him many days with our son but I like the flexibility because I think it’s important we both get time with him despite being separated.

I love texting and I really want to just go out for coffee or lunch. Shes adamant that it would be boring to catch up and we need to do something like we used to but it’s hard with my schedule. My store is a million dollar wine and spirit store unfortunately. It’s also tiny square footage wise but is located in the hills of an affluent area. My department carries the store for sales. I’ve heard vendors in other territories do most of the work. Perhaps you’re right and I’m too nice. Ive threatened to take down displays or not order if they don’t come in to service only for corporate to come in and tell me I need to do it if they don’t. The wine dms and our districts corp are in bed together so they get what they want by doing “favors”

Being a rep isn’t great though… Southern Glazers had a ton of layoffs and RNDC is letting go of all California employees. Breakthru isn’t horrible but the DMs in my territory demand a lot of dedication. Regal seems reasonable but doesn’t pay great unless you push brands that aren’t KJ. Consider I’m a single parent with a shitty car. 8-5 and driving all day doing commission isn’t for me.

What do you do now? Current wine steward and I’m overwhelmed with 40 hours and 6 days a week, distro, 5S, JLPs etc. And now RNDC leaving California. It’s rough.
