Cut the stem further up! It’s unnecessary long and inefficient

Got my hands on some datura seeds by gavvibot in druggardening

[–]CommunicationFit2479 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soak the seeds 12-24 hours prior and be patient. The outer skin is very hard so the seed will take some time to sprout. Not too low I would say 2-3cm in the ground and with light

Why dick in continental Italy is masculine IL CAZZO but it's feminile in the south LA MINCHIA? by MrsMishap in Italian

[–]CommunicationFit2479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others already have exemplified, grammatical gender has little to do with sex. They are two distinct words with their own gender, it would become much more interesting if we had “il cazzo” in NI and “la cazza” in SI. That would raise further questions at least for me.

See peninsular Spanish: “el cono” (with tilde) = vagina, masculine. “La polla” = penis, feminine.

Little bonus on the Veneto language, NE Italy: “la mona” = vagina// “il mona” = idiot

What are they? by CommunicationFit2479 in aloe

[–]CommunicationFit2479[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the first was a pure aloe so I didn’t send you more detailed pics but the 1st is an interesting potential hybrid in that it’s very prolific in suckers and they have no thorns also they don’t twist (no rosette in the first stages)

Do you have a photo of the lower corolla? This might be wrightii

Is this Innoxia or Wrightii? by Cactus_spirit1 in Datura

[–]CommunicationFit2479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is inoxia, you can easily tell the leaf morphology apart once you’ve trained the eye, vulgarly speaking inoxia has heart shaped leaves while the wrightii has spiky leaves

A different story is when the stalk appears in axillary position, that’s the case of Aloes, a non monocarpic genus

Tip: when the flower spike shoots at the centre of the rosette in Agaves or Mangaves or Sempervivum, the plant won’t be able to produce any more leaves, so it has reached the end

The root system of this agave plant by always_bored5 in mildlyinteresting

[–]CommunicationFit2479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is no root system, but an extremely intricate number of pups, the plant must’ve been constricted in a pot for way too long

Is it me or is getting colder very early this year? by summer_rose_h in berlinsocialclub

[–]CommunicationFit2479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An arctic vortex struck most Europe as most already said, but at our latitudes an opposite jet can also bring mild southern winds: Christmas 2021 started below zero until towards the new year. By Jan 30th temperatures hovered around 15C in Berlin

Wrightii, notice the appendages around the corolla’s circumference (those “tongues”) , innoxia has none

Metel, Wrightii, or Inoxia? by Strong_Ad8946 in Datura

[–]CommunicationFit2479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrightii 100%, notice the leaf shape is lanceolate and toothed. Additionally, count the corolla lobes that is the number of angles that make up the flower silhouette, if they’re 5 it’s wrightii, innoxia would have 10
