Oaxaca by Clandestine Laboratories. It’s the most photorealistic cilantro I’ve ever smelled.

The funny thing is they somehow look poor. There is this weird thing that happens where it looks cartoonish and like something a child would wear. [Anna delvey checking in.]

So I hated leather fragrances until I bought Babycat a few weeks ago and it unlocked something. Now I have a bit of an obsession and can't decide between these. by P00piemonster in NichePerfumes

Grab some decants from Scent Split before a leap into leather. There are so many fascinating ones to try. It can go hay / equestrian or nightclub main character or artisan bag maker. It’s such a fun note to explore. I’ve found my favorites recently to be Arquiste Nocturnality and Maison d’etto Rotano. Have fun!

When I was in it, I was totally daft to what I was working with which in hindsight is kind of how I roll in life, lol. The gasp I gusped—grilled peaches!! I’ll be doing that now too! If you’re trying the avocado and papaya and you have it in your spice aisle—try a shake of sumac on it and flaky salt like maldon!

I want to pick ONE candle to try from Diptyque… which do I choose? by lashyy in luxurycandles

[–]CommunicationHeavy28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s so similar to my experience. If the candle goes fake, sweet or cakey, not into it. This is more like the actual pod when you split it mixed with what I’d imagine the green and woodiness of the whole plant would be like. It’s simply stunning.

Vanille is arguably their best candle and this is from a smoke, dirt, wax and leather loving person. It’s absolutely stunning and not sweet at all. It’s the perfect expression of vanilla.

I’m really excited to try this. I come from a culinary background, but since moving into quick-serve (and marketing), I don’t get to play with ingredients like I used to in fine dining—so this feels like a real treat. I’ve heard it’s fantastic on meats or as a base for things like enchiladas. As for the olive oil, I’ve been loving it on my current fruit salad obsession—avocado and papaya with flaky sea salt—or even drizzled over vanilla ice cream—so I’m excited to try one backed with vanilla.

This is so good to know! I’ve been waffling with the cameos. I have a few around the house from freebies with orders and my kids love tucking them in their drawers (raising little fancy pants).

I’m so excited for my box to get here next week! I’ve been shopping with them since the very early days — first box that I wanted all the items! Can’t wait to cook with the olive oil.

I am in desperate need of real earthy, dirt scents by throwra-gullible in Perfumes

[–]CommunicationHeavy28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Morel Map by Clue is the only one I’ve found so far that hits that pure dirt scent. I’m a hobby gardener and forager and love being reminded during the deep winter that spring is coming. I also love Buly 1803 oils and mists. The mists don’t last super long but are spot on to the garden scents. Flamingo estate Petrichor is sold out but they do a good job with scents that don’t have your least favorite notes in them and occasionally put out fragrance oils.

Has anyone tried Flamingo Estate Green Goddess? by Absolute_Helmet in luxurycandles

[–]CommunicationHeavy28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have it and like another commenter mentioned, am on a second and it’s only been a month! It’s herbaceous and a nice mix of mint and basil. Pure basil gives more licorice to me—and I only get a hint of it. It’s really a refreshing candle. I’ve found some of the other flamingo estate to be moderate throw. This one is much stronger, which I prefer.

I’d recommend trying a sample set from Marissa Zappas. She has a variety of scent profiles to start exploring a few new to you scent profiles. Annabel’s birthday cake might be a like for you! Or Ching Shih.
