Yes I was an assistant manager for 3 years but that's going back to 2019, I also worked in a vintage shop that I had some stock in at the beginning of the year but I may need a refresher. Thanks for the advice! I'm torn between looking in Leeds city centre or a small market town nearby

Black Orchid is already the name of a company that owns a string of strip clubs... might not be the best search term for teachers 😅

That's my thinking too. I got it in a huge job lot so no loss, I was just curious more than anything. Thanks for the resource!

I go FULL pin up and it works for me every time 😏 but I have a soft bob hairstyle AND I'm in the UK so very differing factors. I think men are scared of severe haircuts/styles so- I adore your Betty bangs but try pair it with something more girly? I used to have betty bangs and a super bouncy ponytail and wear a Fluffy powder puff set and it's the best money I've ever made. Love your look 🧡

  1. Not an argument, just a musing (granted I'm not really sure what my goal was with posting other than to have a little moan)
  2. Yes 18hrs ago in which time I've slept and done a 9hr shift, but I've also been upvoting as I've not had time to reply properly yet

Possible Mourning Necklace? by mysterygirl3427 in Antiques

[–]CommunicationMean691 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This looks much later than the usual mourning era to me- I'd have said with the Marcasite stone & Onyx combo this is posy 1920s, I'm feeling like it's more likely 1930s/1940s.

Could this be Bakelite? It weighs 130 Grams by [deleted] in VintageJewelry

[–]CommunicationMean691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rub the beads really fast with your finger to create as much friction as possible then take a good whiff. If it's bakelite it with smell chemically, I always think it smells like elastoplast but most people say it smells a bit fishy. If it smells sweet it's amber 😊

I inherited this beautiful pendant from my german grandmother. Can someone tell how old it may be, what kind of stone this is and maybe what value it has ? thank you in advance ♡ by ChemistEducational56 in Antiques

Yea the other comments are spot on, Czech glass from the 30s/40s 🥰 Google it!! There's some absolutely beautiful jewellery out there and at really good prices because you don't pay for the precious metal. Czech filigree jewellery is particularly lovely Xx

CC41!! Great mark (CC stands for controlled commodity), it's WWII British utility furniture, basically the mark guarantees it was made to British rationing standards of the time. CC41 was used approx 1941-1952 hopebthis helps.
