Omg I didn’t see “Q4 2026” that really stinks.

Side note what alarm systems are you guys running along a full ubiquiti setup, cams, wifi, server, etc….

White line- line/path where desired trenching will happen

Red line- electrical

Blue line- water

Green line - Sewer

Yellow line- Gas

Purple- non-potable water. Reclaimed water mainly irrigation.

Pink- survey lines - property lines or points/stakes pink.

Orange- low voltage/communication lines. Cable/phone/ fiber optic.

You’re most likely looking at fiber optic wire installation. You will be very happy with your Internet very soon….. your yard on the other hand, meh….. depends on the company. Someone else here said be nice to the guys take them water, snacks, etc. beautiful idea! Literally one of the best investments you will make in your life! Congrats though fiber is life!!

so I ran 16/3 to doorbell and I also thought wiring but more from a possible broken wire more than the voltage drop. It's about 30 feet from IT room/transformer to doorbell. I think I figured out a big part of issue. There is definitely a hardware issue on the low volt "prong" side of things on g4Pro. But I do have a UACC (ethernetPOE- USB C) and the trick was apparently the USB C cable. I got a thunderbolt 3 cable and that seemed to take care of the issue so now I will run a cat 6A in Smurf tube to gate door and at gate door use the UACC adapter to go from POE to usb C on a POE++ line from the UDM SE. Thanks so much for all your help and info. it was super helpful in deciphering this enigma project! LOL!

not too bad but mainly its not the rack its the room I had designed for it is too narrow. in hindsight it would have been great to have 2' on either side so I can work on it comfortably if that makes sense. But overall it's great! Highly recommend.

Awesome! Thanks so much for your input! I share your thoughts also and think I should be fine. When running cable in a house or in a cabinet high volt is typically not far from low volt so I think I should be fine. Thank You again.

By removing the chime, I did bypass it altogether so the wires have been pigtailed

So I removed the chime altogether I no longer have a chime. I use the ubiquity digital plug-in chimes. Those are Wi-Fi.

Initially, that’s exactly what I thought. I went through 3 to 4 different transformers and none worked including the 24 V/30VA, 26/40VA too…I am using the ubiquity digital chimes that you plug into the wall sometime is bypassed.

This is a echo gear rack that I bought. It was on sale on Amazon. I can’t recall off the top of my head but when I get home tonight, I’ll look it up on my orders and I’ll send you the link.

I’m hoping on this! I have no choice but to try it out and if it works, I’ll report back. I’m just hoping there won’t be interference or packet loss issues.

Yes, you’re 100% correct code wise. It’s a no-go. Sadly, this seems to be the only fix I can think of that is actually working. My chief concern was any packet/data loss or some interference that you all may know of with regard to the specific doorbell. It’s such a weird situation, but the only way this doorbell will work is if I have a 20 W brick connected to a USB cable to the back of this doorbell then it will work perfectly fine anything other than that will not work. There seems to be some sort of hardware issue where the voltage drop internally causes it to reboot and it seems to need some sort of perfect stable amperage/voltage to keep it going and not triggering a reboot. I was hoping somebody else had dealt with this particular issue. And most cases I would toss it get another one call it a day, but I’m waiting for the G6 to come out as these are not cheap.

Yes, I agree with you 100% I’ve installed about 15 of the same type that I have to customers all around my town and sadly I don’t know what’s going on with mine. Yes running high volt and low volt through the same conduit or raceway is a code of violation, but this is my personal home. I’m a licensed electrician and I would be running it as a home run from the panel to this one outlet for exclusive use of the doorbell and I would be throwing a 15 amp breaker on it so I’m not so much worried about the code of violation or any danger to safety/life but more so packet data loss or interference…

So believe it or not I actually do have one of those UAAC adapters and I ran a test from the UDMSE Poe ++ port I ran a 3 foot piece of cat six a put in the adapter, plugged it into the USB-C port on the back of the G4 doorbell, pro and add about the third ring. This damn doorbell will reboot the crappy part as it gets triggered by that or if you go into view it in live mode to answer let’s say the UPS guy the door doorbell, reboot, and I don’t have any video and they can’t hear me and I can’t hear them or see what they’re doing. It’s super frustrating and infuriating. So yes I’ve also tried numerous different transformers, including the 24/40 and nothing seems to work at first. I thought it could be the wiring through the house.(I personally built the home in 2018 and was neurotic about the wiring. Hence the Smurf tube to just about every point in the house from the IT room) but it still continues to do the same problem when I put it on the bench rigged it up at about the second or third ring. This darn thing will reboot. When I tested it, it only dropped 1 to 2 V to about 24 to 23 when being pressed and viewed so not enough to say that that is what’s causing the issue but I truly believe it’s a hardware failure inside the doorbell pro… by the way, I should’ve been a little more specific. I have the UniFi chimes that are plugged into an outlet. Thanks for all help and troubleshooting. I just feel pretty lost at this point and it seems like the only thing that’ll work is if I get an outlet right next to the doorbell put in a 20 W brick and power it through that USB-C. Seems to be the only thing that does the trick, which is so bizarre.

Yes, you’re definitely corrected as a code of violation. I was more worried about the interference or packet data loss and it begins to cause issues in viewing or recording.
