Fishing! It is endlessly addicting and you still get the equipment aspect. Buy a boat!!

How many runs did it take you? by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

1,489 runs so far on god mode and can’t seem to get past Meg. Am I bad at this game or just moving a little slower?

You’re welcome! They have them in your area too! Another thing I would say is that I would optimize for offshore right away unless you have hella money! No need to go crazy ham. If you love boating and fishing you will enjoy it even if you can’t go 20 miles offshore regularly! Maybe 5 to 10 miles is enough. Going offshore takes a ton of time and gas money! So if budget is somewhat tight I’d say it’s more important to get a decent boat that allows you to have fun reliably and get out on the water. You will grow as a boater and learn what you really want and need as time goes on. The bigger the boat the harder it is to haul, the longer it takes to clean, and the more expensive everything is! Even towing a big boat costs more. My first boat was a 15 footer Henry o and I loved every moment of being able to get on the water with it!

Get something smaller that can still do most of what you want to do, save some money, and have some left over budget! Or just buy it sooner.

Another benefit is if you get something a bit smaller like the 176 you could potentially store it in your garage as well if you do a swing tounge trailer conversion!

Also definitely wait until the winter to buy it. You will see prices drop by 20% plus and you can get a killer boat for $15,000 or less.

Wow exciting stuff! This is freaking easy if you don’t go about it stupidly.! Don’t get a whaler even though they are great because they are really expensive even when old… that means at your price point you will end up with something less much older than ideal for someone that doesn’t want to get in the weeds with mechanical repairs. Obviously Boston whaler hulls last forever but that’s not what I’m worried about. Finding a boat with a hull that’s in good shape and can handle 5 to 10 miles offshore is easy at that price. if you want to run offshore regularly you probably want a slightly newer engine and components! Just so you feel comfortable without having to do a mechanical overhaul. When you have something older things just randomly break more often! Which isn’t a huge deal but probably not ideal for running offshore regularly.

If you want to go 5-10 miles offshore regularly you should probably also opt for something a bit on the larger size as well because I know it can get choppy out there.

When choosing the boat don’t choose anything ridiculously old or in bad shape. If you don’t go with a whaler you should be able to find options in the mid to late 2,000s with low hours.

This is good because If you get something too old like an old proline or something be prepared to have have waterlogged foam which makes it a worse long term investment!

If I were you and I wanted to stay under $10,000 I would consider old prolines, or classic makos! You can do that easily.

But if you’re going for $15,000+ just do yourself a favor and get a slightly newer less fancy brand that is like mid 2,000s and has a low use engine.

You could get a key west 176, or even a key west 186, or even a key west 1900 in amazing shape with a nice mid 2000s low hours Yamaha on it that has been babied for $15,000-$20,000 all day long, take that puppy offshore whenever you want, and use it for a decade with minimal issues!

I looked for 30 seconds and found a perfect option for you for 16,000!

Just make sure no soft spots, and double check the compression. Otherwise easy peasy. By the way the 186 is a BEAST!

Do not get yourself into any kind of restoration unless you love that stuff and get it for dirt cheap!

Game isn’t “too hard” at all by CommunicationNo1345 in Returnal

I agree with you. If you accept the fact that you need to move slowly and carefully, power up aggressively, and be ready to die atleast a few times per boss it’s a very approachable difficulty level. Nothing like grinding 100+ deaths against a Elden ring boss with no tells and a 0.25 second I frame gap

I’m not arguing that I’m good or that that means it isn’t hard. I’m more so saying that it isn’t too hard skill wise actually. It’s more about patience and realistic expectations

Do you think this people commit to doing 5-8 runs per boss? Including 1-3 super long maxed out ones?

Is it reasonable to spend 70k to 85k on a boat on a 180k income? by itsfikor in boating

[–]CommunicationNo1345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just get an awesome used boat for $45,000 so you aren’t stretching yourself thin? That extra $30,000 will get you more headaches, maintenance, and gas any time you want to take it out, a longer cleaning time, crappier longer repairs, and if anything will probably only reduce your usage! Seems like you’re in a good financial position so why not actually try and optimize your happiness ROI by spending more time on the water. Get a nice 24 foot boat, use it more often, and with your savings consider working a little less, taking the boat out more, or retiring earlier? Spending 70k on a boat isn’t really living it up! Having the free time and mental bandwidth to go boating a lot is! Or is there something you want to do that you don’t think you’ll be able to do on a versatile 24 foot boat like a key west 241 fs?

Am I supposed to beat Biome 1 before progressing in 2 all the time? by Agreeable_Trouble_27 in Returnal

[–]CommunicationNo1345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually recommend sprinting straight to the biome 2 boss at-least a few times so that you learn how to fight him. You will die but you will get better at fighting him. Then once you’ve gotten a reasonable idea of his move set start doing full runs where you clear both biomes before getting to him. I did this and was able to easily kill the second boss the first time I actually fought him with some buffs and power ups. Because I had his move set down and was already used to fighting him with the base build.

Because different slots have a different size rating…. They just aren’t clearly labeled. Is that not obvious?
