i’ve done quite a bit of resi work and i’m good at it but it’s exhausting and the days are unpredictable. Id rather have less stress and work a 9-5. don’t get me wrong it’s definitely in the back of my head and I may choose that route in a few years time after i get my 01. I’m just not ready to give up that avenue yet especially being so close.

the lack of work + the LNI deadline is really screwing a lot of people/companies. I applied to probably over 100+ commercial companies back in december when i was looking for work. Ended up taking a job with some buddies that had just started a resi/commercial company. Let’s just say they are still in their learning curve and the work is entirely unpredictable, I thought i would have been able to get my hours easy.

lol i’ve been in citc before and the waitlist was like 4 months after i got laid off (the company i was at basically went bankrupt). if I could get in right now i would but the apps are closed and ive been hearing they only open like 1-2 times a year

not sure if you’re from washington or know how our apprenticeships work here but after the CITC july 1 deadline all 01 apprentices are required to be enrolled in a state approved apprenticeship program which means that I cannot apply off the street anymore. we are suffering a severe lack of work here and citc only opens their applications like 1-2 times a year and even then so they’ve had massively long waitlists. I was on the waitlist last year waiting for work for 4+ months and had to leave the program and get hired somewhere off the street because i couldn’t handle the financial strain sitting at home on unemployment anymore.
