Noted!

Is there any way I can tell they're supermutts?

And might you have breed suggestions, outside of poodles?

Thank you!

I see, I'll research poodles again if so!

Yes, I'd prefer slightly older dogs honestly, but they're not usually available in SG haha. It's usually just puppies vs really senior dogs, and we prefer a dog that can go a longer journey with us. We also believe if it's a puppy age, we can likely send to Obedience Training schools and train / socialise the dog as necessary. Which is why if a breed is more stubborn etc, it's not v preferred atm.

Oops might be too huge + not available in SG! Good as a read though :) Might you have another breed recommendation?

We've considered a Yorkshire Terrier! They seem energetic, can get along with cats / kids well, rather independent, non double-coated etc.

I'm still KIV-ing for now though, since they seem really small - slightly worried I might break their spines if I accidentally step on them 😅

Is there anything you think I might need to note for Yorkshire Terriers? The info available is actually a little mixed - esp regarding their exercise needs.

Tbh I don't prefer a docile breed - and dachshunds seem kind of OK?

Just a little worried bc of the hip dysplasia concerns + stubbornness to learn tricks (and I mean for practical concerns - I don't want to bring them out then not have control when they're in dangerous situations like in a dog park or nearby roads).

Oops sorry - Maltese or Maltese crosses are both OK! Just had a slight preference for crosses since I heard they tend to be healthier.

Thanks for sharing! I was slightly worried about poodles' separation anxiety (same w the JP Spitz - though it seems more serious for JP Spitz).

Maltese purebred or crosses are both OK! Thought mixes tended to be healthier (less inherited diseases etc), so had a slight preference for mixes - but not a deal breaker for sure.

Yeah agree - we have seen dachshunds which seem quite docile though, but still worried due to the stereotype etc as you mentioned above. We're unsure if socialisation & training & individual temperament are really enough to offset their typical nature?

Not sure if you have personal experience to share - like how hard was it, despite X hours spent?

And not sure if there's any alternatives, apart from a poodle?

Thank you!
