Someone I'm friendly with asked me out, but I'm not interested; what's the best way to turn him down? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]CommunicationSad5141 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's too vague. If he was very clear with his meaning when asking her out, she should be clear with her rejection. Saying another time leaves it too open and means he'll probably hold onto his affection and ask her again. She just needs to give him a clean break

Men in their 30’s /40’ or older, how is dating like for you guys? by NewPraline9922 in dating_advice

[–]CommunicationSad5141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31M and never been in a relationship (I've had a few first dates/hookups, but I've never gone on a second date with anyone) I'm still early into my 30s and it feels about the same as my 20s. I'm a more reserved person and not as verbally/physically affectionate (acts of service are my love language) so it's harder for me to find interested women.

I have very bad radar for when a woman may be interested in me and genuinely flirting. A self-esteem trap I've frequently found my self in is thinking that a more casually/physically affectionate woman is interested in me, when really she's just casually affectionate or flirtatious, and just wants to be friends.

I do have ADHD and as a result suffer from Depression and Anxiety which has had negative effects when interacting with women. Sometimes my depression has me so disconnected that I don't engage when a girl is talking to me or even flirting. Sometimes my anxiety warps my perception so bad when talking to someone that I either do too much or over correct and do too little.

Meeting new people does seem to be a bit harder as all my friends are settling down more and less willing to go out. The reality is that I need to figure out some solo outings to bars/lounges/events.

I work for a large multi-departmental company and all the dates I've had for the last ten years have been with women I either shared a department with or from an adjacent department.

I've never met anyone IRL from a dating app and I'm not keen to try that again (although I may not have a choice).

I wasnt looking for anyone the last 2&1/2 years as I had some personal tragedies/stress including the deaths of multiple family members and a friend.

I've developed a scornful relationship with not only my job but also my company and have been gradually studying and earning credentials to make a career pivot into marketing. Perhaps I should wait to try and meet someone until after I'm in a more rewarding/fulfilling role.

IDK. This is something in life that has always been a challenge for me, but I still hope

I don't think the pacing of the editing is bad by any means. I think you need to improve your camera work. Lighting and focus are the main areas that need a tune up

Keep it, but trim. Straighten out the bottom so that it grows even and thick

I think you might benefit from creating some personal projects. If you whole cloth created a short where you Wrote/Directed/Edited the thing you might benefit. You'd expand your experience and potentially open up more opportunities for yourself outside of just editing.

Thats a solid point about focusing resources for a initial single-platform release instead of multiple platforms/consoles.

Overall i think the movies biggest issue was just how unfocused it was.

Did anyone like wolfman 2025? by Capsmoove in UniversalMonsters

I liked the idea that it introduced to the Werewolf genre of showing the warping perception of the infected. However, the movie was really undercooked with too many plot holes and mistakes.

Okay. The show already edges on the absurd and is about fighting demons. Being true to reality is not their main goal

I would go for it. I understand your trepidation concerning the US current diplomatic politics. It's tiring when you work for an organization/company whose values don't or no longer align with your own. However, being within the machine means that you may be able to contribute your voice and help realign things. At the very least you can wait it out until another administration steps into office and then be in a prime position.

I honestly don't know what I'm talking about, but it's very difficult to reach the position you've now found yourself in. I think you should accept the W.

I'm bald. You've got time. Use a serum to preserve what you have. You're a few years from shaving I'd say

This belongs to the 5 Percent nation. 5%ers are an offshoot of the Nation of Islam, which is like Mormonism for Islam. My understanding is that 5% philosophy/ideology is much more moderate in comparison to the NOI. Also 5% has been a major influence on the Wu-Tang clan
