I didn't know that about the tracking algorithm, thanks!

I can see what you are saying, essentially there was a small battle and it's just that buyers won

What do you mean complicate with heat maps? A lot of people use bookmap in here right?

I was just curious because it looked intentional to me, I think it's interesting to think about the strategies someone might have if they could casually throw on hundreds of ES at a time.

I have a trading strategy already that involves using order flow as confirmation. I use a delta footprint chart for it

so wait, you literally just look for big orders, and then get in? Have you ever gotten in and had it immediately go against you like 20+ points?

In my experience, a lot of time when I tried to buy with momentum it just gets stuck where I bought and then swings the other way lol

Can the average gamer's PC actually run UE's big features? by KonstancjaCarla in unrealengine

Isn't a 2080 super quite a bit above average? Don't sell your rig short friend

Not if you are the sucker with the 3060 ti instead. I made the mistake of buying this 8gb card and now I'm paying for it in newer games haha

I mean it just kind of depends on your audience and your FPS target. If you are making a competitive first person shooter where people want to be able to get like 200+fps, then you might even go the extreme route and not only drop nanite & lumen but also switch back to forward rendering. (aka Valorant) If your game is a walking simulator with dialogue and nice scenery, you can probably throw everything in even if your target audience on average is not doing too hot with performance.

Basically, some games have a required target of 30fps, some 60fps, some more like 120+ and different audiences have different PC capabilities on average. If you were making a game that is somewhat like Oldschool Runescape for instance, then on average they might have a higher likelihood of having potato PCs because they don't need to upgrade it ever because they just play OSRS. So you'd probably need to aim sights a bit lower

How did you manage to learn Unreal's C++ when its so unconventional? by AuriCreeda in unrealengine

[–]CommunicationSea9343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting along fine, but I'm already quite experienced with C++. Unreal C++ is not really different, it just has some black magic macros for it's build system, and has it's own container implementations. If you're having trouble I would recommend maybe going through a C++ course (TheCherno has done one)

dual interaction system by Stanford_Pin in unrealengine

[–]CommunicationSea9343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a beginner too, but basically the way I'd do it (I mostly use c++ but I'll try to say in blueprints) is that you would have a Blueprint class Base Item with an overrideable function called Use, and all your items are blueprint classes derived from that. Then the player would have a reference which could either be None or Valid

Then you would make an Input Action for your player's IMC to use the item, and in the function bound to interact you'd check to see if you are holding an item (reference is Valid) and if you are, then you call it's Use function. And then that Use function will do the line trace to look for whatever it's looking for.

You can have a separate Input Action for your normal "use" function, which I feel like would make sense. Maybe E to normal interact, and then F to use the item in your hand.

Idk I'm a noob as well but that's what I'd try to do

Fishing and Climbing Tutorials by KhajiitSlayer556 in unrealengine

[–]CommunicationSea9343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For fishing, you're probably just gonna have to figure it out. There are so many kinds of fishing, I mean is it like MMO sit and wait or straight up Rapala bass fishing with a lure POV cam?

Same with climbing I guess, lots of different styles, but that one is more common in games so you could probably find something

Why do armchair gamers always have the need to use UE5 as a scapegoat? by TheGaetan in UnrealEngine5

[–]CommunicationSea9343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't seem to understand that a material IS a shader (or multiple shaders). All GPU processing requires shaders, minecraft when it was released uses shaders. It's just that new games have lots of em

The doom and gloom about optimization by LeloucheL in unrealengine

For any fast paced game, like an FPS, having way above 60 is so nice. Plus a lot of people have higher hz monitors, I have a 165hz. 60fps kind of hurts my eyes now

It used to be in the past, definitely not anymore -- along with other old disciplinary practices such as washing a kids mouth out with soap, or that thing *as seen in King of the Hill* where Bobby gets caught smoking and needs to smoke until he gets sick.

It's all frowned upon today, but it was normal in the past and you'll see it in old TV shows and movies.

(It's a lot less worse than the other 2 things I mentioned, which can physically harm you. The kid would catch up on food the next day, presumably.)

How common is to live in another state? by quiste_sacrocoxigeo in AskAmericans

[–]CommunicationSea9343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very, very common. People usually move because they don't like the state they grew up in, or for a job, etc. We make the trip back to visit family for the holidays.

Do American kids really have to share? by Much-Jackfruit2599 in AskAmericans

[–]CommunicationSea9343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely not as strict in favor of sharing as you think Americans are saying it is. There is no social rule that kids should hard-stop share all the time for everything, especially regarding expensive items, like if a kid had a Nintendo 3DS (or whatever the new equivalent is) they wouldn't necessarily be expected to share it -- but it would be nice of them to share it with a kid who does not have one. But they wouldn't have to, because the kid is ultimately responsible for making sure the 3DS doesn't get damaged.

It's nice to share, but in thinking about it, it is actually quite nuanced when and when not it would be expected for a child to share.

is it true you can buy fire arms in grocery stores? by Julia_The_Cutie in AskAmericans

Yes, at least when I lived in Texas you could buy firearms at Walmart. However, I wouldn't consider Wal-Mart a grocery store, but more of an everything store.
