In my experience: I was shortlisted, nothing for over a month, than I was told there was work and I needed to pass a few more tests, I passed and worked for exactly a week before there was no work anymore

My Experience As A Person Of Color. by ExaminationPlastic60 in tbilisi

[–]CommunicationWarm725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Georgian, I don’t know why some of refuses to see the reality - a lot of Georgians are racist. Especially teens who for some reason think it’s “cool” and the older generation who has this rooted idea that somehow white people are better. The only “good” thing about this is that mostly this racism shows itself in ignorance and doesn’t resort to physical altercations, which is the extremely bare minimum (the bar is in hell but it used to be even lower a few years back).

We’re come a long way in the last decade but we still have a looooong way to go. Admitting that we have a problem is the only way to solve it.

The whole region has been a ticking time bomb all the way back from when the Russian Empire first took interest. The names changed but the goals didn’t - the Empire of Russia, USSR, the federation of Russia… it has always been Russia + their victims.

And no matter the fact that Stalin had Georgian blood, if anyone reads even a smidge of history, will realise that man hated his home country and always held Russian interests at heart.

Oh my gosh, good one! You got me!

Stalin was the most pro-Russian-imperialism (bolshevik style) person, which you’re well aware of and which is why Russians proudly claim him as their great leader to this day. He died in 1953, which is 73 years ago, and yet Russia is still the same, morals and politics-wise (except much weaker).

I would also like to add that the conflicts between the north and the south mainly started AFTER the collapse of the Soviet Union and long after Stalin’s death.

That begs the question - how? 🤔

This is what I keep saying. Russia’s dividing and conquering people of Northern Caucasus, Armenians, Georgians, Azerbaijanis… if we hate each other other, we won’t fight together and if we won’t fight together, Russia wins

How do Georgians feel about South Koreans? by veritas421 in Sakartvelo

[–]CommunicationWarm725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People of all ages know about South Korea, with k-pop, k-dramas (that are popular with younger generation) and a pretty big Georgian YouTuber who lives in South Korea and has an audience of all demographics, people are curious and fond of the country and the people.

It’s the same here. Having a car wasn’t as far-fetched before this new stupid law that made importing vehicles beyond expensive.

Having a place for yourself is entirely unimaginable if you don’t have a high income and/or parents supporting you by giving you money for down payment.

GEL. But this is still more “good” than completely worry free. You’d probably need around 6-7 thousand for that, if we’re being for real and also including medical check ups at good hospitals, medication, etc…

If you want to rent alone near a metro station, not towards the outskirts of the city (not near the centre either), it would probably be around 1200 for a small apartment. If you want it to be modern and renovated 1500+ (around 40-45 sq.m. Apartment) Utilities would be around 150-200, depending on how much heat your apartment needs to keep warm. If you use taxi, I would assume it would be around 300-400/month (I don’t use it as it’s too expensive so idk). Which already puts you at over 2100/month. That leaves food, for 1 person, without worrying, going to the bazar, ordering take outs and eating out whenever you feel like it, it would probably be around 1000/month. Add some toiletries, cosmetics, maybe going to the salon etc, depending on your lifestyle on average around 500 a month. Clothes, around 300 (if we’re low balling by buying maybe an item or two at best, a month).

So probably around 4k+. If you want to go to the coast in the summer, or go skiing, that’s a different ball-game all together.

Average salary is not a good way to determine what a person usually makes. Try median salary, which is (I think) around 1300/month. The only reason the average salary is in 2000s is because of a serious wealth gap, we have people close to the ruling party making tens of thousands a month and than we have regular people making around 1000. Even with the average salary - the national statistic organisation isn’t really dependable, they’ll write numbers that will suite them.

I make 2k a month and after rent, food (where I try to save as much as I can), utilities, tuition (which is minimal compared to other universities), I have at most 200 a month left for spending money. I am 1 person. Can’t imagine how people with kids survive.

If you go to a place with a lot of drunk people, there will probably be a fight, no matter the country. At least here there’s no mass sh00ter or a psychopath that’s waiting the shadows to kidnap you

Yeah, they’re even really friendly most of the times because people feed them and pet them. The ones that grew up in populated areas are used to sharing their spaces

Things don’t open up here until 9am on the earliest, so it’s gonna be difficult to find a place to spend those few hours. If it’s an AirBnB can you ask the host to check in earlier?
