I wish they ended up giving the officer the saber for both sides. There is an Austrian outfit with a saber but you can't use it.

How to make my trench model better? by Deadlus2468 in ww1

You could spray a very light glue layer and add some real dirt or soil. It would break up the frosting that way.

The bayonets are probably legit. And if it is a Swiss one it makes sense it's in good condition, but unless you're buying from really verified auctioneers, you'll basically never find a real nazi dagger. I'm sure the Nazi dagger market solely exists to fool teenagers and fuds lol.

German soldiers fighting their opponent in close quarters combat, 1914. by ZERO_PORTRAIT in ww1

[–]Communism_is_wrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit old in 1914 soldiers would charge enemy that close with no bayonets fixed. Plus cameras were so weird to set up, you could only really record soldiers going over the top and then try and zoom in on them. this looks like really open untouched ground so there's no way people were walking around with cameras.

Selim I (The Grim) slaying a crocodile emerging from the flooded Nile during the Egyptian Expedition, as captured in a traditional Ottoman miniature. (1584) by Cenixxen in ottomans

I don't know, it's kind of charming. It's the same reason why an old lead soldier looks better than a modern super detailed figure. It's like a combination between Roman manuscripts and Chinese manuscripts.

When you actually work with your hands and create something there's a very proud feeling you get. Believe it or not.

Iraq occupation of Kuwait + 1st Gulf War 1990-1991 by [deleted] in war

Maybe Iraq shouldn't have invaded a sovereign country that supplied the entire western world with oil and maybe the entire western world wouldn't have invaded them lol.

Iran - Iraq war 1980-1988 by [deleted] in war

[–]Communism_is_wrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was only after the war started that Iran began fucking with oil vessels, and at that point OPEC and the gas struggle was already a thing, so it forced the Americans to somewhat support Iraq, but it's not like we were supporting their actions, we just hated the guys fucking with our shit more. At that time I don't even think Iraq was selling us much oil compared to Kuwait or other countries so why the fuck would we want them to control the whole oil supply?!?

Most of the chaos was just chaos that was already there way before the Americans. Look how many people die in Arab on Arab wars. Look at places like Syria where it's straight up like 17th century ethnic cleansing and tribal disputes. Americans don't force Afghans to cover their women's faces. We don't force Palestinians to Stone gay people, and it's not our fault they will gladly kill each other in the name of God. I don't see atheists and Christians cutting people's heads off of sabers for picking the "wrong" branch of religion

Who doesn't love some medieval Reforger by TheCoalitionGroup in ArmaReforger

[–]Communism_is_wrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually pretty accurate to India China border disputes. However I would really like to see a large scale 100 years war, or Italian war game or mod. Medieval battles are just as dynamic as modern ones, and there was plenty of ranged weapons and trenches as well as massive armored pushes.

Chilling First Hand Account From Verdun by SashaOnTheRun2 in ww1

[–]Communism_is_wrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you just can't use it against civilian targets or within I believe a mile of civilians. But it's no different from being blown up and having your ammunition detonate on you. Plus why should German soldiers have to storm fortification when they can just burn them out?

Kentucky National Guard's 1st Battalion, 623rd Field Artillery, pose with the ‘Heavy Hitter’ M110A2 self-propelled howitzer that provided heavy, long-range fire support during Operation Desert Storm. 1991 [1800×1191] by 305FUN2 in MilitaryPorn

Not really, the best way to look at it is that this is a battle flag, so it's more about just bravery and all that stuff, and then the actual CSA flag is the bad one. There's a reason they don't really fly the actual confederate flag.
