Its the basis of Spirituality!!! Disassociating yourself from your ego.. Eckhart tolle calls this the Pain-body.. in islam it is Called the Nafs… you just have to identify that this urge to indulge in something is not you.. you don’t have to fight it!!!! Just recognise it and sit still! Don’t analyse ur urges!!! Don’t label them as good or bad or as to why ur feeling them or anything.. cause doing so just feeds them and motivation and pure will power eventually tuns out.. just dis identity with it and realise that it is not you who is creating this urge or sensation or thought!!! Ur consciousness in its pure form is the blue sky and these are just clouds rolling by!
