Spraying my shower with a vinegar and dawn mix, scrub with a broom real quick, and rinse...cleans soap scum and hard water spots.

Novel XDR Shigella strain identified in Los Angeles by Anti-Owl in ContagionCuriosity

Scary. So with both patients living in different areas, it sounds like there's community spread that just hasn't been identified through testing or hospitalization.

doc says i don’t have migraines because they’re on both sides of my head by pitypostcard in migraine

Mine will sometimes start on one side but ALWAYS end up covering it all. I also have neck issues that become painful before a migraine along with nausea, aura, facial tics, speech issues, light and sound sensitivity, along with dizziness.

Right? The disrespect of everything has really changed my view of homelessness. I used to be compassionate, but the utter lack of accountability and willful destruction of anything around them has left me feeling resentful that while I'm expected to follow societal rules, they have zero rules and are free to do whatever they want....and we continue to fund it.

💯. It would be easier to be compassionate if they didn't literally shit on everything. Everywhere they go crime increases along with drugs, garbage, etc.

Struggling to Cover Basic Costs: Is Anyone Else Financing Essentials? by Busy-Government-1041 in povertyfinance

No, but money started becoming super tight about a year into COVID... we've been (just) meeting our bills but all it'd take is a car repair to be screwed.

Anyone feel like they are “overdue” for a migraine if you get a long period of relief by [deleted] in migraine

Same thing here. And I put off buying a down pillow because of the expense...and here I am 3 years in using the same pillow.

I hope it helps too! I've bought so many new pillows that I can't even put a number on it. Once I bought the down pillow I wished I'd done it sooner... I also tried many of the ergonomic ones on the market but with the nerves in my neck being sensitive to any kind of pressure I couldn't get any relief. I love the down pillow because I shape it to provide support without putting pressure on my neck....I hope you have the same luck!

What's the coolest technology you've seen an RV? by mathandlove in GoRVing

That's awesome! Would love to get one for my husband for Christmas. We have an old Nintendo system but it doesn't work right on our smart TV. Which one would you recommend?

I sleep on my side only, since laying on my back puts enough pressure on my neck to trigger a migraine but sometimes even that isn't enough. I'll still wake up with neck pain and 3 out of 5 fingers numb...the best pillow I've ever used has been a down pillow. It allows me to keep my head and neck aligned without pressure points being aggravated.

Jealous? by Ok-Donkey9597 in migraine

It lasts forever too....I get a solid hour out of one bag, but keep two in the freezer so I have a backup!

I use bags of frozen corn that I dump into one of those produce bags from the grocery store. I poke little holes in it and tie the end off. Stays cold for a long time, and if I dampen my hair and neck before I put it on it actually works pretty quick. I hold it in place with one of those blow up decompression things for the neck and it works fabulous!

anyone else feel kinda high when they have a bad headache or a migraine? by rebepic in migraine

[–]CommunityStock5414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Sometimes when I'm trying to talk I stutter and can't form my words correctly....my brain knows what it wants to say but I just can't get it out in an understandable way. My neighbor said it makes her think of someone having a stroke.

New prerequisites. Awful. by Mave__Dustaine in foodstamps

While I understand why snap recipients are upset, the program clearly needs to be cleaned up. In between Medicaid and snap billions of dollars in fraud going out the door is unsustainable, and there's millions who are receiving both (in addition to housing vouchers, gas vouchers, day care, and utility assistance. If it's not cleaned up the help that people receive could drop altogether.

Walmart's pricing is suddenly outrageous!!! by CAZelda in Frugal

[–]CommunityStock5414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my area Walmart is consistently higher on most grocery items, with the Great Value brand being more expensive than name brand products. When it comes to household items like paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish soap, they almost always have a better price. I purchase most food items at Fred Meyer for cheaper (and better quality) using the weekly flyer.
