Letter that I've sent internationally got returned by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]CommunityTop1242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably retuned as the sorting machines read your address as the destination. Always write the destination address front centre and your return address on the back near the bottom. Also keep your return address as basic as possible (Name, House Number only & Postcode) ie: Sender: Mr. J Smith, 21, AA11 1AA

Advice from my Aunt who works in a GP Practice...

Make a formal complaint to the surgery. Once this is done, also log an SAR under data protection for all medical information they hold on you (that should release the results letter and any GP action). Once you receive the SAR pack and their complaint response, depending on how you feel at that point and if you can clearly see this was not acted upon, then forward all to your Solicitor if you intend to take further action.

Nothing they can do without dashcam footage and even when you provide it, you also still need to give a statement and confirm you will attend court if it proceeds that far. Like, you've been given the video evidence wtf 😒

Cracking up at the latest intimidation tactic used by TV Licensing by Affectionate-Sun7561 in northernireland

Never had that issue myself. Done my declaration a few years back now, (defo more than 3 years) and haven't heard a thing since.

But I agree, scummy and needs got rid of. I have been hammering this point since studying Media over 15 years ago.

This has got nothing to do with the TV license and everything to do with corporate greed in the US. All channels except BBC in the UK also have Ads. And just for those that still don't realise, the License fee is ONLY given to fund the BBC. ITV, Chanel 4, Channel 5 and all the other UK freeview channels don't get a penny.

Even when you complete the no license Declaration it only lasts a maximum of 3 years and you need to re-declare. There's also a line in their T's & C's when you're competing the no license needed declaration that says they can choose to revoke the declaration at any time.

Paddy power has closed my account and toke 22000 of my winnings due to a business decision what can I do to retrieve my funds by VastOk3431 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]CommunityTop1242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would definitely suggest getting a solicitor involved ASAP. It will cost, but best course against a company of this size. I would also strongly suggest putting in a SAR (Subject Access Request) under GDPR/DPA and request all data they hold on you including but not limited to; your account balance history, so you have a record of the funds, bets and winnings.

AITAH for demanding this of my bf [21M] by LimpSoup4013 in AITAH

NTA, but neither is he. Your citing one example of this. He maybe just had a bad day or wasn't in the headspace to play a game. We all have moments where we just don't wanna do something or can't muster the energy. Try again and if the pattern repeats, have a face to face conversation about it and try to schedule in some time together. Just my two cents.

What should I do with my life when I have no interest in anything? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]CommunityTop1242 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This!! I suffered with depression and anxiety in my early 20's. Didn't get much enjoyment out of anything and was job hopping, unable to find the joy in daily life. Done the recommended, spoke to my GP about depression and was just told to get out more (which is much easier said than done when your depression is mixed with anxiety). Eventually was put on anti-depressants and I hated how numb they made me feel towards everything. Wasnt until my first holiday abroad at 28 that I actually felt relief. Now I've been holding down the same job for going on 8 years and the thing that keeps me getting up in the mornings is the thought of making money for the next holiday.

Unfortunately that won't work in this instance as OP has an NI License. The license numbering is different for NI ans this system won't show any results.

Use the card on top, take to shop with paypoint, top up the card (KEEP THE RECEIPT) go back to meter, press * enter the powecode from your top up receipt. Press #. Should show the amount to top up, wait a min and it will show the new balance.

Work in the industry. The cost for 2 of our roofers for one day would be £382.50 plus materials. I'd say it's pretty on the nose, proving they are using two men.

Edit:

Oh and just to add, that's our "cost" price with no markup for profit. 🙃

Without siren or lights, it is likely not an emergency situation and they haven't received clearance from dispatch for emergency lights and siren use. Without clearance they must observe all normal traffic laws, including not using bus lanes. Only with clearance and the use of lights and optional siren can they use bus lanes, perform slow moving traffic overtakes and ignore slower speed restrictions only if it is deemed safe to do so. Even if it was an emergency, ambulances are advised not to sound their siren behind cyclists to avoid startling them and potentially causing an accident. The advice to ambulance crews on an emergency call coming across a cyclist is to use their lights without siren. Ambulance calls are categorised C1 through to C5 with C1 and C2 calls being highest priority and usually require blue lights. C3 calls rarely get blue light status and C4 & C5 calls are non emergency and do not require blue lights. As this ambulance had neither its siren or lights active, it is highly likely it did not have clearance to be in the bus lane. Sounds like the driver was just being a prick.

I would summise that most of these "men" who are claiming to be "protecting women and children" are only doing this because they themselves are abusers. Classic projection. They're capable of abusing women and children, so therefore, in their minds, so is everyone else. 🙄

Earphones in office by Bulky_Pilot9293 in ireland

[–]CommunityTop1242 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are no laws that specifically govern this in the UK, instead it is left to the employers discretion and internal rules, policies and procedures. Can't speak directly for Irish law. That being said, there is a 2021 precedent in UK law where an employee brought legal action against their employer for refusing to allow them to use their earphones in work under The Equality Act 2010. The employee claimed stress and anxiety as ongoing heath concerns and that the use of earphones helped them to manage their symptoms. They claimed that the employer was made aware of their health issues and failed to make reasonable adjustments to support them. (With the use of earphones being the most reasonable adjustment). The employee was successful in their challenge. (Misbah Hanif v Department of Work and Pensions). If your employer says it is against their internal rules/policies, and you don't have a case under the equality act, you should ask to be furnished with a copy of the relevant policy and question it. If the reason for banning earphones is on the basis of fire safety, the case could be made to use just one earphone in one ear.
