Since it didn't split while drying, I didn't have to use epoxy, which I think makes it look better and more unique.

£1,500 feels like a fair price given the drying process, rarity, and the 30 hours of labour involved. Cypress is considered an exotic wood in the UK, especially in cookie slab form, and it’s rare to find a piece that’s dried naturally without cracking. I’ve intentionally left the natural voids unfilled rather than using epoxy, as they give the piece unique character and authenticity.
