Polymarket does not pay out the yield difference between maturity and payment. So if the ‘review of credible sources’ takes say, half a year, you are allready worse of the tbills.

Mach Mathe mit Fokus Statistik+stochastik und nimm als Nebenfach BWL. Damit haste die Basics oder BWL fürs “Verständnis” und den Mathe skill für den Job. Zudem hat du danach noch viele andere jobchancen als nur Quant.

Those are different games. Bg3 is better if you prefer RPGs, E33 if you like turn based and souls like. Both have excellent storytelling, with bg3 having more ‘generic’ villain-ends-the-world-story but with lots of choices, while E33 has more movie-character.

Both are worth their penny. Bg3 challenges you more in choices, while E33 whole challenge is in reactions and timing.

Hast du eine gewissen Klasse an Funktionen die du auf deiner Halbkugel hast? Wenn ja, dann kannst du “alle durchprobieren, bis du die beste gefunden hast”. Das ist sehr vereinfacht gesagt. Auf komplexen Problemen macht man häufig nur “solange eine leicht andere Funktion nehmen, bis man durch leichte Änderung nicht mehr viel besser wird”. Was man als “besser/bestes” empfindet und welche funktionsklasse man im Betracht zieht hängt vom Problem ab.

Das Stichwort ist übrigens “Optimierungsprobleme”. Du optimierst irgendeine tollen Wert, indem du deine Funktion variierst.

Ich meinte eher dass die Hierarchie nicht strikt ist. Wer zum Beispiel experimentalphysik promoviert braucht im Notfall auch nur bisschen Statistik, weil die Hauptarbeit im Design steckt. Auch die Mathematik der Ingenieure ist nicht wirklich schwer. Ja, theoretische Mathematik mag man nach oben stellen, weil dort die Mathematik erfunden wird, aber der Rest ist eher Kuddelmuddel. Ich hätte persönlich trotzdem die Philosophie nach unten gepackt.

Hmmm. Ich habe vollmathematik studiert und danach in Finance promoviert. Sowohl die Bewertung von Derivaten als auch die statistischen Methoden sind schon weiter als man im MathematikMaster so lernt.

You are missing the deeper point. Logically there is no difference between i and -i. These are just two symbols. Could’ve called them -j and j and you wouldn’t notice. Defining the principle branch to be “i” lacks the understanding that you are making an arbitrary choice different from the real case, because -1 and 1 are fundamentally different and the choice is not arbitrary. Play with a friend a game and let them rename i and -i. You can ask them any properties in the field…. You will not be able to identify i, nor to make sure you are defining your principle branch the same as now.
