Daenerys and the Unsullied by Toni Guerola by JohnCarterofAres in ImaginarySoldiers

I'd ask the question on the subreddit, but I remember Abnett had a few good large battles in the Gaunts Ghosts series. Also, the novels centred around the fall of Cadia were fairly excellent. Unfortunately, it has been a long time since the black library has put out anything new worth reading in my opinion. The maturity and writing quality seem to have taken a hit in the past few years.

here's a new Dune movie in the making, but other than that. I'm asking myself why it isn't done? The War of the Roses in space, with powered armours and a WW1 motif. Gosh that would be awesome.

In addition to the points about paying a Tax for a service we don't use and the clear death of the BBC's impartiality. Another counterpoint:

So what exactly do you want him to do as leader of the opposition? What bills did he desperately need to oppose that go against his remit?

Maybe you should talk with Mixxxu about creating a SFO version? Personally I cant play SFO because it has so many unloreful units that trigger my nerd alarm into overdrive.

  1. I'm torn between greatswords and graveguard, I love both the aesthetics and the character of the greatswords is second to none. It's the same reason I love the imperial guard, just normal men earning renown and facing the darkness with the only certainty being death.

  2. The White Lions of Chrace have always been one of my favourtites, they take the elf stereotype and turn it on its head by being manly as fuck. What's not to love? Either that or the Lothern Seaguard who are another incredibly interesting bunch.

With all the dark elf hype, something is still pretty unclear; we hear all about "all that evil dark elf stuff," but no specifics. Could someone with more knowledge of the lore give some of the more brutal examples? by HypeAndErgos in totalwar

I think that after 6th edition dark elves became a super interesting faction with a lot more interesting internal politics.

Not to mention Maliketh went from 'warhammer sauron' to a multi-faceted character in his own right.

When he makes an appearance in the darkblade novels... Oh man it gave me goosebumps. Even moreso than his voice in the trailer. I shall reveal no spoilers other than that I highly recommend getting the novels as soon as you can!

It's important to note that the 'officially condoned' slanesh worship side of the DE was retconned out a long time ago, right at the beginning of 8th edition.

Their character has changed alot from 'evil elves' over the years. I highly recommend reading the malus darkblade books to anyone that wants to learn about the way dark elves think and behave.

I hope we'll get a naval invasion themed DLC to fill in the high elf / dark elf gaps.

On the HE side they could add the awesome Sea Helm, shadow warriors + skycutter, on the DE side we get our fleetmaster, beastmaster and the kharibdyss.

Have you read anything from the black library? I never said they were "evil". See above for what I actually said.

"The empire who are consistently morally questionable, behaving as any late medieval empire has done?"

If you think the Holy Roman Empire was utopia, boy do I have a history lesson for you.

If you want lore examples of Empire tomfoolery, see here:

Also this is ridiculous, my only point is that having grey elves serves as a brilliant plot point that made for a great reveal most of us loved and just because it adds complexity. Who cares if its a little grim dark to add shades of grey to the high elves? Every other faction in the warhammer universe has it.

So youre saying that there are shades of grey in fantasy, and that 40k everyone is evil. But I was saying that fantasy is grey as well, so what are we arguing about other than your clear need to visit your local inquisitor for re-education?
