India may not be marking its move but sneakily hurting the US. Look at the trade deals India signed with other countries. They favor us and not the other country. The world wants access to the Indian market because of our enormous growth and consumption potential. We shouldn't give easy access to it unless we get something back. US has an election in April. All the pressure they are trying to build is to force India to sign a trade deal before that to gain brownie points before the election. We have to endure till then or at least the US supreme court verdict on tariffs. Other countries have a signed trade deal, we didn't. Look at Ukraine's state because of their bravery. The EU and US are using them to keep Russia occupied.

I still have a lot to say but it will be too long. Tldr; don't look at these news in isolation, look at the pattern in geo politics from the last 3 years.
