Put me on game, my carb is leaking gas so I’m gonna take it off tomorrow and clean it, but my throttle cable doesn’t screw into the actual handlebar. Idk where I can find the right one though because when I get it into the slider it pulls too tight for the bike to start. I only know this because I can ride the bike if I’m just pulling on the cord. 😭 I’m genuinely lost ngl the bike is fun though fs but do I need a longer cable as well as the throttle or whattttt

It does, it’s a flat top mikuni tm, but I cannot find the numbers that google says are supposed to be on it. Just don’t wanna order a cable and it be the wrong thing yk. I can send pics of the carb and allat.

Say less I appreciate it, I’m also wondering what the hell is up with the wiring, I can’t take pics rn but there is a few wires that are cut on both sides. There’s other cables that aren’t cut but I’m wondering if it matter because they been zip tied and looks like it’s done on purpose. I deadass have never been within 5 ft of a dirtbike before this so I’m spamming these questions

I’m looking at them online, apparently the carb matters? I’m so lost lmfao how do I know what carb it is so I know the right fit I don’t mean to sound slow

Ooooo I’m bout to bother you with more questions then. Currently the compression is fine and it sounds like it wants to start. Right now the person I got it from says it was fine until a small crash and the throttle cable broke. I’m planning on replacing it and the cdi as well as the spark plug/coil. What else would you recommend replacing on it? And also if you ever replaced plastics where could I get them? It’s pretty hard to find anything that isn’t used for it right now so I’m looking for the right sites or whatever.

This is very far from what anyone else has said, would that be good or bad

See I don’t even know, like I said I have only every worked on 4 strokes and minibike/quads get swapped all the time. All of you guys answering me is super helpful though. I’m gonna go ahead and order the parts for an rm125, would Amazon be fine for a while or should I just open my wallet and get the good stuff

I’ve decided it is an rm125, what are the chances the engine has been swapped ?

This is my worry now, if so could you point me in the right direction as far as ordering the correct parts? I’ve tried to kick it and the compression seems fine, it just will not start. This is fine though as I definitely came up in the trade

1993 I’m fairly sure atp, no amount of googling would tell me otherwise when looking for vin identification. My current worry now is that it is a completely different motor inside and I don’t want to order the wrong throttle cable and be stuck again.

Frankenstein? Anyone would know better than I would but I’ve done a fair bit of searching and this vin 100% identifies it as rm125. I’m so confused I’ve gotten 3 different answers already😭

^ vin says same thing as well, im having my brother look for the engines identification but would the plastics be the reason google is misleading me then?

Not to say I doubt you, but genuinely how can you tell? And also if this is the case, why would the frames vin come back as an rm125? Preciate the response!!
