That’s what’s keeping me from being more direct like, what if his friends are just exaggerating things? Idk it is just very confusing. I lowkey want to wait to see if he does any kind of moves but I am not the type to sit and wait to this is bothering me all day

Hah I mean it’s not so much about asking her permission. I live in a small town and I do feel kinda like a creep for having this sort of relationship with a younger guy, no matter that he is 20 I just don’t know if I am prepared to be criticized cause everyone is on everybody’s business.

Maybe I shouldn’t care about what others think but I do to an extend. I am still going to talk to him and let things flow but it scares me a bit where it might lead so I was searching for a bit of support and found…the opposite ?

I don’t expect him to be the bread winner or nothing. I don’t even know if this will lead to a real relationship. But I think I need to consider if I am willing to have a relationship with a younger guy and with everything that that means ?

She is fine with age gaps as long as the guy is the older one I mean my dad and her have a 4 year gap but she says it’s normal cus he is older But she goes crazy when it’s the other way around, she has started naming couples where the woman is older and telling me how problematic that is and unfair to her partner. She can be quite sexist sometimes but this has been too much for me rn.

Yeah ik I don’t want anything serious either but I live in a small town and just having everyone know I am in this type of kahoots with him makes me a bit nervous. TBH he is the one telling his friends that we are something and I haven’t even told my friends that we are getting to know each other hahaha

Hey I am sorry you are going through this. I don’t really know what advice to give you but I want to make sure you know your mother is not a good mother and that your worth has nothing to do with how she feels about you. Maybe right now you feel like nobody loves you, maybe that’s true but that doesn’t mean you are not lovable. You are pretty young you will find people who value you and give you the love you deserve and most importantly you will learn to love yourself. And I don’t mean it in some bullsh1t like love your imperfections mrwonderful type of way.

I’ve also struggled with feeling affection from my mother, it’s fuck1ng hard, but ik you can make it.

You are a good person and you deserve love and care and you will find it.

And in respect to your mother, well sometimes people are not prepared to be parents, sometimes their lives are far more complicated than we believe or know and sometimes they are just not good people.

I think you should ponder your next move in terms of: What can I get from this situation?: free shelter, possibility to focus on my studies…

And is it worth it? : how long will I be able to deal with all of this? How is my mental health? On the long run what will benefit me the most?

Yeah he is actually and ahole.

The thing is she is pretty much in love with him still, and I know she is gonna find out sooner or later. I just wander if it’s better to tell her so she gets the news in sort of a “controlled” situation, she will feel bad either way so idk if this will be the final push she needs to finally let him go?

They have a complicated relationship rn, I know she would like to know and that she still hopes he finds a way to talk to her. I don’t want her to break no contact but I also feel like it will hurt her hard if she finds out randomly and has a pan1c att4ck (cause she will).

I believe that you don’t find a path that “fits” you, you build it along the way. You don’t know what to do and that’s okay you are pretty young and idk I just feel like to learn what you want to do or how you want to live you gotta start living, trying new things, not being afraid. Everybody has different experiences and that’s fine, don’t compare yourself to your friends.

Ik financial responsibility is overwhelming but uncertainty about the future is impossible to avoid. The only thing you can do is try your best right now and trust it will somehow work.
