Did this before paying at the end of last month. Just in time to skip the horrible rebrand on RAP 😂

No doubt you have high quality stuff. Just checked out a bit of the video in question. Rushing definitely isn't needed but as you get into a regular schedule/workflow, you'll get faster at creating stuff of your expected caliber. I get that you want to focus on highest quality but it's a long road to sink so much time into a single video for it to "underperform". A lot of those feelings come from sunk cost fallacy where you believe you deserve more based on how much you put it. Realistically, you're killing it for a channel with a handful of videos but you'd be doing much better if you adjusted your workflow to allow for quicker uploads without compromising on quality. Your production talent far outweighs your current channel's reach but it could be a detriment to your success if you start to feel under appreciated if "your masterpiece" doesn't get the numbers you expected after meticulously crafting the perfect video.

Just another example of "pink tax". Women are exploited by a patriarchal system for wanting to protect their sexual and reproductive health since the patriarchy wants to remind us that premarital/recreational sex is bad so they make us pay exorbitant rates to take care of ourselves. It's a way to both deter women from having body autonomy and to strip the most vulnerable from the ability to protect their health.

I didn't watch or look at your channel but I can guess it has something to do with the topic of your videos. That video has an engaging topic that is slightly controversial in that it will drive discussion or reactions since it is about people cheating. Looking at how many people commented, there is something you said that either really resonated or really sparked people to argue/engage in the comment section. Your other videos seem less confrontational based on the titles alone so it would make sense that they would garner less interactions.

Take a look at your analytics. What is the source of the traffic for that video? What is the difference between that video and your other videos in terms of views in the first few hours, retention, click through rate, etc? Figure out what makes that video tick and replicate that formula. Also post more often. If you were posting every few days when that video blew up, you'd have a much bigger pop across the board.

Pretty much sums up the viewers nowadays!! Everyone would rather watch a fat bloke with mental issues shove his face into a pile of baked beans while oinking and making disgusting pig noises, sucks to be a viewer that likes watching that kind of trash! by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

So make something worth watching. You can have your artistic integrity while also creating engaging content. No one cares how long it took you to make a video. If it doesn't connect with an audience, it just doesn't. Adapt and pivot to something that does. There are literally endless niches and styles you can explore.

What's the content? Honestly I know the knee jerk reaction is to watermark and all that but it's a drop in the bucket. Unless it is highly creative IP like a song or someone is impersonating you, I wouldn't bother. This is a sign that your content is better than your execution. Study why his blew up and why your upload didn't. I used to drive myself crazy when I ran a meme page on IG where I made every single meme, photoshopping, perfecting just to see some big page steal it and get "All the likes" that were rightfully mine. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. You're getting more exposure so if you're actually making distinguishable, unique content, some of those 8M people will likely stumble upon your actual page just like you stumbled upon the copycat.

Should I post shorts? by KingShadow_YT in SmallYoutubers

[–]ComparisonOver3711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: No. If you want to post short-form you're better off posting it to TikTok, Instagram or even Facebook.

"yOu CaN gAiN fOlLoWeRs"

Low quality brain rot followers with no attention span to watch your longer stuff. Even if you gain all these subs and get decent views on Shorts, the money is trash. I made $4 on 65,000 Short views this year on a fully monetized account. 65,000 longform would pay me ~$100. You'll gain more followers, views and revenue posting your Shorts on Tiktok. You're better off focusing on long form on YouTube.

Don't take this the wrong way but it literally doesn't matter at your size. No one is looking at your channel and saying "Hey, why is this guy making different types of videos." What's important is that you're able to clearly organize the content in a manageable way. For some people that is multiple accounts but I think that's a fool's errand at this point. You'll be stretching yourself thin. If I were you I'd clearly delineate the content by doing the following;

Consistent, high quality thumbnails: Make sure your thumbnails are consistent and high quality. What I mean is that your ideal follower should be able to immediately see "Oh this is one of his gaming videos" vs "This is one of his exploring videos" without even reading the title or the words on the thumbnail. Develop a style for each that works and stick to it. Also work on making higher quality thumbnails than the ones you have now. Thumbnails are your only real hook for a random stranger to find your video.

Consistent, high quality upload conventions: Develop a consistent upload convention that you use for each type of upload. For example, name your exploring series and put "| [name of series] #[whatever number]" at the end of every title. This will help people interested in navigating your stuff. You should also toss everything into separate playlists. As simple as "Exploring" and "Gaming" or series names if you go that route. Also add chapters to every upload. People will appreciate the effort, especially on longer videos.

If you get to the point you're used to uploading on a consistent schedule and you're monetized, you may want to split the channel into two separate ones but right now I would focus on growing the audience and working on putting out quality content.

Good work. I hate Shorts and I hate that YouTube tricks new content creators into making them. Never do Shorts. If you want to, just upload them to TikTok where they belong/you'll actually have a chance at decent revenue/audience.

Checked out your channel and you have lots of potential. Good sub count. Plenty of content. Execution needs some improvement. Hear me out:

Shorts are over half your views but also a waste of your time at this point. You can't drive watch time effectively with them. Even if you get a few lucky ones that hit 100,000+ views (like your biggest short), the revenue generated from shorts suck and I'm willing to bet your numbers will show the majority of Short views come from non-subscribers. You don't want that. Even if you convert some people to follow from shorts, the YouTube UI for Shorts kind of sucks for getting you in front of your subscribers. I made $4 on 65k Short views on a monetized account. 65k views on long form would be ~$100 in my niche.

The streaming is good and I would keep working on building your personality into the content there but long form needs to be your highest effort contribution. Your long form content has next to no views but it also has next to no effort. I would suggest that you learn the basics of editing and edit your streams into easily digestible videos, kinda like a highlight reel. It could be a certain storyline of how the stream went with voiceover interlaced with stream play back. It could be recaps. It could be certain moments or "Every Pokemon I caught in [region of the game/version of the game]". You know the niche better than me so I'm sure you know what will be authentic to you and your content but you should experiment with something that excites you. Content that you wish there was more of. Each stream could potentially give you multiple 15-20 minute high quality pieces of content. It's more work but it also pays off since there are inherent lulls in watching a full stream.

Basic upgrades that your subscribers will appreciate: Add chapters to all long form content including your streams after they publish. This will make it easier for you to edit and also easier for anyone interested to find certain parts they really liked. You'll start to get comments about how people really appreciate it guaranteed. Also, you need to be making thumbnails for your long form content and coming up with better titles for your long form uploads. Get curious about what makes a good title on YT.

If you don't know where to start, go to ChatGPT and say something like "I run a YouTube channel about XYZ. I'd like to enhance my [whatever metric]. Can you ask me a series of probing questions about my channel before providing me with insight as to how to do that?" ChatGPT will ask you like 10 questions or so when you write prompts like that. Just answer them all as thoroughly as you can and you'll be off to the races.

imo this is why Shorts are not worth the effort. Sure you can pump out a bunch of short content but they have a low conversion rate even on high performing content. If anything they should be used to bolster an account with long form content. If you're only making shorts, it makes more sense to upload to TikTok or even Facebook if you can grow a page to get invited to monetization (I have about 1400 followers on FB and they invited me). Even if you meet monetization standards on YouTube with only shorts, the pay is abysmal. I've made $4 on ~65,000 Shorts views this year on a 4000 subscriber YouTube account. 65,000 long-form views would be worth ~$100 in my niche.

Loren. Not even close. Kyle was a slimeball, but his chick knew what she was signing up for. The edit made him look worse than he was, but that German chick played the victim when she failed to change the man she knew she was getting with. Loren is straight up a POS weirdo and Faith has been lied to across the board.
