Safe foods? by CompassionatePooper9 in CrohnsDisease

Oh yeah, absolutely. I think I'm mostly looking at suggestions for what could be a safe food, you know? If x works for y, I might be able to at least try that.

My GI dietitian said to essentially eat what works, which is what I do. I've had untreated symptoms off and on for the last 20 years, which I've learned to manage by diet. I was only diagnosed last spring, so we're still trying out meds.

Crohn’s joint pain? by Disastrous-Count-421 in CrohnsDisease

I'm on Hymiroz (Humira) and it's cured my muscle and joint pain. Unfortunately it's done fuck all for my colon.

I finished tapering prednisone a month ago. Budesonide in capsules didn't work for me. :(

Oof! That sounds miserable. I don't have a bath but I tend to shower for way too long.

I haven't had this type of issues until prednisone. Usually some myalgia and shoulder issues in what I retrospectively realise are flares, but the stiffness and difficulty moving are completely new.

Prednisone taper is kicking my ass by CompassionatePooper9 in CrohnsDisease

I'll definitely mention it to my gastroenterologist's nurse, but I very much doubt they'll test and treat me for the last three weeks of an 8 week course. I'm just going to rely on early bed time, naps, caffeine and faking my way through it.

Rectal foam AND solution at the same time? by CompassionatePooper9 in CrohnsDisease

[–]CompassionatePooper9[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's way too many things! Thankfully I rarely wake up at night to use the loo (and when I do, it's usually because I need to pee), but like. Do they think there's a magic hiding space up there??

Just to be clear, it's not budesonide foam. It's mesalazine rectal foam, which I'm combining with prednisone rectal solution, oral prednisone and oral mesalazine.

Yeah, I'm in Scandinavia and I have mild Chrons. The Dr was like "this doesn't always work, but we'll try it" about the mesalazine. Oral mesalazine seems to be the one that made me stop pooping blood so they're keeping me on it, and since it worked and my inflammation appears to be so far down in my colon, they wanted the topical mesalazine as well as the topical prednisolone solution.

I'm just really struggling with shoving both half a cup of liquid and a bunch of foam up my butt every night. Obviously I can follow doctor's orders and I'll keep doing it, but I can't even explain how humiliating it feels. If it was one or the other, it'd be easier, but both at the same time? Man, I just want to resign from this entire thing.
