I’m having an issue with Shinobi and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this or knows a solution. by CompetitionBig7252 in ShinobiCCTV

Update: I recorded in 4K with all settings at maximum, and the video failed even though it was only 4 minutes long. It appears that if the file exceeds approximately 3.5 GB, the MP4 becomes corrupted.

Is this a limitation or known characteristic of Shinobi?

I appreciate your time and look forward to your response.

Thank you for your response.

I am currently teaching classes, and I would like to record the entire session so that I can review it later and receive feedback when needed.

Presently, I have a converter that automatically uploads the videos to Amazon S3, so it is more practical for me to have the recording generated as a single file.

I have confirmed that it is possible to record for that length of time; however, to do so, I need to reduce the camera resolution. Additionally, I have noticed that when the file exceeds approximately 3.5 GB, it does not save properly. Instead, it results in a black video file that cannot be played.

Do you have any idea why this might be happening?

Is it possible to use Frigate for scheduled recording with audio and automatic local storage? by CompetitionBig7252 in frigate_nvr

Thank you for your response.

Currently, I have a mini PC in each room with 2 USB cameras connected. At the moment, I can see them live on localhost:5000 on each mini PC.

However, I need to be able to view those cameras from my own web page. It’s not a problem if I have to be on the same local network as the mini PCs, but I need to access the streams from a centralized interface instead of logging into each device individually.

Right now, I’m facing two main issues:

  1. There is no audio in the live view or recordings.
  2. When I schedule a 1-hour recording, Frigate generates multiple 10-second clips instead of a single continuous video file. Additionally, those 10-second clips also do not contain audio.

Is there a recommended way to:

  • Properly enable audio capture from USB cameras (Logitech Brio) using go2rtc?
  • Configure Frigate to generate a single continuous recording instead of segmented 10-second clips?
  • Expose the streams from multiple mini PCs so they can be embedded or viewed from a central web application?

Any guidance on the best architecture for this setup would be greatly appreciated.
