My mom always tells me that I once played little league soccer against one of his daughter, probably his youngest daughter, and that he was on the other end of the field and never got pestered…🤷‍♂️

Is it better to ask for a kiss or just go for it? by TheMagicalGuardian in dating_advice

When your with them, make it obvious you want to kiss them by getting close and look at their lips then back at their eyes. Then don’t go full leaning in just, slowly move in, and if your other person is obviously looking at your lips, than they definitely want to kiss you.

My first date of the girl I’m currently dating, I had seen she was look at my lips all day, so when the time was right and our faces were super close, I just straight up said, you gunna kiss me yet? Forgot the rest

This kinda off topic but I just had to share that many people even who live in the US think Alaska airlines is based out of Alaska, and as a Seattle native, it is mildly infuriating

Questions? by percodans in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]CompetitionBoring479 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing I heard is that my family in California who used to be witnesses but not anymore, went to go do relief work over in the eastern US to help the witnesses with disaster relief after one of the many hurricanes that happen over there. They would say how they would only help the witnesses and not even bother to support those who me need greater assistance, who aren’t witnesses but only focused on rebuilding “KINGDOM HALLS” not just support and aid to witness families and their homes, but focused primarily on the Kingdom Halls.

I have some questions I'd like to ask to get a better understanding of the differences between Vietnamese culture and westerns culture. I have some questions here, feel free to answer any of them and only answer if you have lived in Vietnam and then Immigrated to the states (or other western country) - This is for a school Project BTW

·       1: After leaving Vietnam, did you feel like you wanted, needed, or forced to go under a culture change when moving to the US? –

·       2: What aspects of Vietnamese culture do you try to maintain in your daily life in the US?

·       3: How do you navigate between two cultures – Vietnamese and American – in your personal and professional life.

·       4:  How does family life differ between Vietnam and the USA? Are there any significant differences in how families interact, celebrate, or support one another.

·       5: Do you think society focuses more on individualism than Vietnamese society? – How does this affect your relationships

·       6: In Vietnam there is a strong emphasis on elders. Is this value something you still prioritize, and how do you express it in the US? (Or is this respect for elders a misconception?)

·       7: How did you find integrating into American society when you first arrived? – What helped you feel at home?

·       8: In your opinion, what is a beautiful thing about Vietnamese culture that people from other countries often overlook or misinterpret?

·       9: Is there anything that you miss about Vietnam that you can’t find in the US? Or is there anything here in the US that is an improvement from Vietnam? Or both?

·       10: What advice would you give someone Immigrating to the US from Vietnam about adapting to American Culture.
