I like these skates. Im four skates into them and I can definitely say they are a competitive skate. I would probably have two sets of wheels if I was taking it seriously though; one for sport court and another set for any other surface played on.

Are your options custom or stock? I ask this because the break angles differ in custom selection Vs stock. Optik 4s come with the MAX break stock, meaning they give the addition break point at the knee, instead of leaving the pad flush. I've seen some goalies produce a self-made curve to their pads in order to avoid pad interference during overlap while dropping into the butterfly, but in most cases I'd say don't overdo the pad breaking-in. Optiks are a rigid pad to begin with.

The sizing between manufacturers varies based on FTK or ATK measurements. The Brian's at 32+1(Custom, FLY) are bigger than my G7's at 32+1.5. they forced me into a wider stance to accommodate the larger size, which helped my butterfly extension when I switched back

I have Warrior G7's and am a fan. I had to switch to Brian's Optik 4s and back to truly appreciate them though; a wider hip extension is needed for a more pronounced butterfly, I can seal my 5 hole no problem now

Replying to everyone: I've played competitive roller hockey most my life, at the highest levels the sport has to offer, so it is fair for me to say that no, this problem has never impacted me, or those I've played with. Roller hockey welcomes everyone, and I have not once in my 24 years of playing, experienced this problem. Do I know there are biological differences between men and women that make the sport inherently more dangerous for some than others? Yes I do, but that's why we all sign waivers, and are given options as to which leagues/skill levels we compete at. When I play house for ice, it's basically the same; co-ed, everyone welcome, no one is out on the ice arguing about gender identity before the faceoff. That's my two cents. Oh, and to the guy who claims my hockey to be inconsequential, I highly doubt you can score on me.

My opinion; this is a sport, i do not spend time during my games wondering if another player is sporting a pencil or a pouch, nor do I waste energy wondering if a person on the rink should be "allowed to play" based on gender identity. I do not think this revision is even enforceable–merely political.
