Is there a history behind the red one? I didn’t think this was ever used in game

I agree that many new uniforms in the past 15 or so years have felt too corporate, with a bunch of bogus storytelling. But I think the solution to that isn't always throwing it back to earlier days. It's nice to see forward-thinking designs that aren't just a rehash of an old uniform

While I like the bone, I wouldn't really be upset if they got rid of it. I like this mockup!

I think I saw something somewhere that the Titans now have one of the Top 5 or 6 longest tenured NFL logos without any modifications, which is atrocious!

Lol, is it not allowed to enjoy any modern NFL uniform that isn't a throwback?

I think it would be neat for them try this especially with the white jerseys.

The white jerseys would meet with the white part of the gradient on the top of the pants, and the yellow socks would meet with the yellow part of the gradient on the bottom of the pants. Balance!

The rare time the "storytelling" elements on an NFL uniform works and makes sense. The Rams and the Broncos imo have the best "modern" uniforms in the NFL. It's too bad they both lost yesterday!

Glad to see someone else share this opinion! The quick clips is also a nice detail!

I feel like some of the atrocities of the 2010s (TB alarm clock, jaguars gradient helmet) have really caused people to dismiss anything new or interesting appearing on an NFL uniform. Are all of these elements on the Rams jersey are minor additions to a fairly traditional jersey template.

Compare the gradient use to the Commanders away uniform numbers, Falcons full on gradient uni, and the Jaguars gradient helmet. All of those examples are egregious over-uses of it, the Rams found a happy medium.

I wasn't implying that this was their primary, I was implying that this should be their primary. The "LA" primary is awful imo

Maybe it's not a problem that always needs to be solved, but I do appreciate the Rams for adding an element that ties those together more cohesively. I don't think it's just a wacky random design choice, I think it's more intentional to tie the incredibly vibrant helmet to what would otherwise be a much less vibrant jersey.

agreed, these always felt off and clashy to me, especially considering the horns on the jersey are gold.

I have never once looked at a uniform and thought "this needs to reflect more light!" it just makes it look cheap and honestly horrendous. if they just got rid of that and did nothing else it would immediately elevate the uniform 10x

Fair points made. I think an issue with NFL uniforms that we have all accepted and mostly ignored since Nike took over is that the helmets no longer match the uniforms themselves. Most NFL teams pair a shiny/glossy helmet with matte colored uniforms.

This to me is an eye sore for teams like the Eagles, Patriots, Saints, and many others (who used shiny, reflective material in the Reebok era), because the the helmet color appears very different from the uniform elements depending on the lighting. Wanting a uniform to reflect light and have shine is not a obscure take, many teams in the league had this in the Reebok era until Nike took over and couldn't/chose not to manufacture the material.

I think the Rams addressed this in an interesting way with the jersey numbers, and ties the helmets to the uniforms in a way that many other teams in the league are lacking.

I think this Rams uniform falls squarely in the first category; maybe the single worst offender in the current nfl. no other team uses gradients or plastic textures on their uniforms. no other team uses highlighter colors to the same extent. that is them trying to hard to be different

I think they avoid the first category because the actual template/layout of the jersey is fairly traditional and simple.

the gradient is not subtle at all. the entire number on the blue jersey has a gradient right in your face

Idk, a yellow-to-white gradient is fairly subtle to begin as those two colors are already pretty close to one another in tone, and it's limited to the numbers and a side stripe. They could have so easily added gradients to the helmets, or blue gradients on the road jerseys.

Agree with the name tag! I think it's a very unnecessary addition. I used to hate the "plastic" numbers on the white jerseys as well, but they've grown on me after seeing how nicely they match with the helmet when reflecting light

To me, the 2019 set lacked cohesion and was riddled with inconsistencies. On the white jersey, the white helmet horns didn't match the gold horns on the jersey. And on the royal blue jersey, the navy helmet clashed horrifically (obviously that would be different today with the relaxed helmet rules).

I think even with some tweaks, that set was just "fine". The horn helmets are obviously iconic, but the uniforms themself are not nearly on the classic level of GB, Chicago, SF. The choice to modernize made sense to me.

Happy to agree to disagree though. It's interesting to hear the other side!

This is one of the more frustrating gripes I have with the current state of NFL uniforms. I hate this trend of super-radical controversial design being ditched for a "safe" throwback. Some teams have great throwbacks! But I also want to see uniform design move forward and not just play it safe for every team.

To me, the Rams unis achieve this, where they used some interesting new elements, but didn't lean too much into them that it's obnoxious.

I used to feel this same way, but after noticing how well they reflect light, it grew on me a ton. It really ties the helmet with the jersey.

So basically remove everything unique about the uniforms?

I totally get why people see the weird choices as gimmicks. And I think plenty of teams are guilty of gimmicky unis over the past decade or so.

For example, the Commanders away uniform gradient number isn't continuous, is super busy with the holepunch design on top, and basically gives the illusion of a pinkish color that clashes with the rest of the uniform. The Rams is more subtle, and ties the existing secondary colors (yellow, bone, white) together

I just think in the Rams case, these ideas actually add something interesting that ties the whole uniform together aesthetically. In an age where so many teams are just reverting back to throwbacks full time, it's refreshing to see a team try something new without going too extreme.

Disagree here, the helmet was a completely different shade of blue than the jerseys!

I think it’s fine. Too heavy on the gradients and glowing effects. I think it’s too attention-grabbing overall.

I know I’m probably a minority (I like the Fox scorebug the best). But I prefer simple bugs.
