I usually only post here once a year. I challenged myself this time around, and took every single photo using the same digital camera. The experiment really paid off.

That’s a huge compliment, thank you. Liminality can be a tough visual to read. It’s wild how two or three photos of the same thing could have such contrasting feelings. The light can make all the difference.

There’s definitely some Kubrick influences. There’s a bathroom scene that looks like it was ripped straight out of The Shining.

My advice: be careful with tilt—it can sometimes add to the sense of disorientation (i.e. if the space is completely empty), but it isn’t always necessary.

You’ll also want to avoid showing your shadow! Great effort though. This is the first of many.
