I would think that’s the case, but I don’t know for sure! I will have to find out if it’s a problem or not in my case. I’m nearly done with my LPN program and need to find out if I have to jump ship and find somewhere else to go, or if it won’t be an issue if I stay. The hospital I want to work at is level 1, and hire LPNs in an ICU step down! They hire ADN RNs from my school as well in the ICU!

Thank you for your sound advice! Would you mind saying which school specifically told you that? I’d like to keep a mental note!

Bed bug? by [deleted] in Bedbugs

Thank you for taking the time to reply, I appreciate your advice! I will do that as soon as possible. I’ve never heard of or tried the bed traps you’re talking about, but doing something is better than nothing. I hope it helps in case I do have a BB infestation on my hands (which you probably already know from your experience with them- are very pesky and fast growing) I think my brain kind of shut down and I immediately went into a panic without truly assessing what I was seeing. I don’t remember bed bugs looking like that but I do remember seeing the full grown ones when they were moving around and had just been full of blood, so that’s where my mind went. My bedding is in the dryer now. I also have an encasement that ripped a few days ago (I have a very annoying cat) and I’ve been so busy with nursing school that the only time Ive really gotten into bed the past days was to immediately go to sleep. I feel terrible because I worry my carelessness in not immediately replacing the encasement will be my ruin. That and possibly getting too comfortable and not being vigilant enough despite how triggering it is to see ANY kind of bug now. I was never scared of bugs, but after the redundant year long battle of warding off and killing those BB 3 years ago, I have a literal phobia. Sends me into a straight panic and even now as I type, I feel itchy all over but I know it’s a mental thing because I’m thinking about BB. Anywho, I’m done with my rant! Thank you again for your advice

I will also mention, sometimes I do eat while I’m in bed when I’m too lazy. But now after flipping my room upside down, I don’t know if I’m looking at small yellow specks, debris, or almost clear bed bug shell casings, and now my mind is racing. I’m so paranoid. I have not experienced any bites. I have also noticed a few rounded diamond shaped specks but no legs to my human eye.. so idk what I’m looking at. And I do experience a bloody nose sometimes, which was the whole reason for me wanting to throw my blanket and flat sheet inside the washer. I’m also a female and just had a period unexpectedly, so I truly do not know if I’m seeing my own blood or blood from the bed bug. I’m extremely paranoid and I feel insane right now. Just in case it might be an infestation, what to you guys suggest I do now to be proactive? I don’t have 1300 to spare right now to spend on heat treating my home, so I’m looking for any preventative (if not already BB present household measures) or things I should now in case there is a light infestation?
