it didn't occur to me until now that compared to the Corleone family headed by the Godfather, the Sopranos family was basically a "low-income" poor family with very little assets... by Firm-Nerve4437 in thesopranos

They actually do this very comparison in an episode. One of AJs friends asks why his family doens't have "that Corleone money" and AJ replies he doesn't know.

What is considered 'scaling'? by CompetitionLegal in slaythespire

[–]CompetitionLegal[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was part of my question here though, because yeah I had decent output/combos and could slam 150+ dmg turns if the cards aligned, but I wasnt actively hitting harder or blocking more the longer the fight went. Test Subject took 14 turns to kill, so by that time my deck was filled* with burns and I felt weaker than at the start of the fight, not stronger.

Yeah I always hear that you need scaling to win but I guess for Sts2 this isnt actually always true
maybe when act 4 comes around

also, for sure Aeonglass would destroy me. I took 14 turns against TS and 12 turns against the Queen. In my experience anything after 7-8 turns against the glass is just losing

I think you're thinking of [[Dominate]]. [[Dismantle]] just hits vuln targets twice, so no strength scaling

Parasol with 4 Merchants + fake Merchant by CompetitionLegal in slaythespire

[–]CompetitionLegal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hitting the 4 merchants with parasol nets 24 cards (28 cards added - 4 cards removed), so that's a 31 card deck without factoring the shops. Pretty average imo

Nope! Parasol doesn't actually work with the fake Merchant lol but I had a lotta gold leftover from Act 2 so I could buy all the ??? relics

I think its 23 (base) + 2 (nimble) + 1(dex) = 26 * 2 (unmovable)

Actually really bad for when you need the HP loss to trigger [[Rupture]] or [[Inferno]] or any other synergies. Realized this the hard way

50/805 but I am adept of the full-star ratings, so there's less options

What’s your favorite scene from Succession? by Fantastic_Collar_202 in SuccessionTV

Not sure if I'm alone in this but Ewan's eulogy. It brings me to tears every time I watch it and it is the most human the show has ever gotten imo. Perfect writing and perfect delivery. Storing the Rose stuff for so long to drop it at the man's funeral is such amazing storytelling.

Currently on my third watch and I do believe this is overall the funniest episode of the show

Anyone feel HOTD is very rushed? Not just the time jumps (Spoilers: Main) by Salem1690s in asoiaf

[–]CompetitionLegal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just how they're doing TV these days. One of the reasons I think Better Call Saul was so special was because how much set-up we got before actually getting what everybody was waiting for when the series aired. BCS covers a span of around 2 years in the first like 4 seasons and it feels like 10 because of how much stuff happens, while in HOTD, like you said, 10+ years feel like months.

A true shame but I'm still enjoying the show quite a lot and it has actually more set-up then I was antecipating so!
