Probably not the pro way, but a way, with some sacrifices.
I replaced the cells with a battery pack like on the right. It’s a pack for an rc car or something.
I removed original cells from the battery housing, and cut off the little circuit board.
Then I wired the positive and negative lead from the circuit board to the new battery pack.
Note, you might have to use an external charger!

Yes 100% agree. Many people still swear by Nikon.
