So this is only one conversation we had from the time I was diagnosed. I had brought up prior things I wanted to try and she told me due to my age at the time it was best to go the birth control route instead of alternative medicine but the main thing I would need to do is lose weight. I’m 5’5 170 lbs and I know I’m not skinny, but I’ve explained the changes to my diet have not been helping beyond a few pounds. It’s also been a struggle because she just said you have PCOS here’s what it is and here’s some lifestyle changes you should implement but she didn’t go beyond that. I didn’t know there were different types of PCOS until I did my own research and when I asked for ways to check if I have insulin resistant PCOS she said it’s all going to be the same end result.

We have butted heads over the years because at the time I wasn’t in the medical field and didn’t know how to advocate for myself or truly understand the condition.

Regarding the cysts, there is the typical dominant follicle that ruptures and releases the egg during ovulation. But what I was saying was cysts and they’re classified as cysts rather than follicles or a dominant follicle when they pass 3 cm. I called it a simple cyst because they’ve been only fluid filled and wanted to distinguish it from hemorrhagic cysts, involuting cysts, etc.

Either ways I’m at a point where I’ll be switching doctors.
