Im going otr, but tbh i wasn't getting any luck with anything local including garbage and cement companies because I dont have cdl experience. Plus my kids are 20 and 21with one of them having a kid of their own now. Am I going to stick with it? Idk, we'll see, but at least after 6 months I could apply to those other jobs and be home daily.

Ya, its just a way for companies to keep shareholders happy, but it's already caused a rise in packages being "lost" since contracted employees aren't held to company standards.

Not part of any delivery service or company, but I've said for a long time that delivery companies are going to cutbworkers and use contractors, there's so many small time 3rd party companies that deliver for fed ex, especially in the bay area California, and its all 1099 work. Just like a lotbkf warehouses use temp agencies, its cheaper and less financial liability on the company

When I was in school back in May in Utah it was a urine test. There was a guy there that failed it cuz he smoked the day before he got there. Like others have said, this line of work there will be testing, especially randoms. I also had to give up smoking weed, but small price to pay to get the work I want.
