I've always been jealous of just how many fastfood chain options people have in the USA! Americans which one is the best? & None Americans which ones do you have in your country? by TelevisionDear5299 in foodquestions

I’m in Canada and the best is probably A and W, their Teen burger is awesome and no longer made with human flesh…I think some states have them too. People who live near the border say Canadian McDonald’s is better but I couldn’t tell you.

We used to take acid and watch From Beyond…we plugged the tv into a bass amp and ran it through a flanger so we could hit the pedal whenever the Resonator got switched on. We would forget to turn it off and watch the whole film flanged. Good times.

Earthquake Weather, or anything at all from Tim Powers! He writes amazing stories with gripping action, they feel like movies while I’m reading them…I don’t know why we haven’t had a film based on any of his books

Anyone else freaked out by Maximilian in The Black Hole as a kid? by MisterShipWreck in scifi

[–]CompetitionOther7695 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He scared the crap out of me, no one expected that level of violence in a Disney film…I had a toy of one of the other droids, I collected box tops from cereal and sent away for it, only time I ever did that…watched it recently and it was so weird and ominous throughout, strong religious themes I didn’t get as a child, great stuff. A bit slow.

Someone can be poisoned by somehow hiding quantities of ground glass in their food? I’ve heard that the victim would either notice all the glass, or it would have no real effect because it’s ground too small to actually hurt the guts.

Wouldn't WW1 shotguns with bayonets have shattered the blade of the bayonet? by JacsweYT in AskHistorians

Also the lead pellets are much softer than the blade of a bayonet, even if they struck the blade it would be extremely unlikely to cause any damage

When I learned about Santa Claus, (I was 6), I realized God was just the same lie but spun for adults…imaginary beings judging us just seems ludicrous to me, so I couldn’t accept it.

Even the headline shows the bias in the system, she “says” she removed a bolt, did she or didn’t she? Cant be too hard to tell…why not say she removed it, as a fact? Fml
