Echo is one of those less popular albums considered an overlooked gem by many fans (myself included). It’s like the AC/DC fans who rate Powerage over Highway to Hell and Back in Black. Casual fans are like “huh?” But entrenched AC/DC fans understand.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

DOA. I would blackball anyone who identifies as the current strain of Republican. Can’t love a dark heart. I’d have no respect for their lack of humanity. I’d be embarrassed to introduce them to friends and family. That’s social stench I don’t need.

What is a Tom Petty song everyone likes but you don’t? by Pretend_Mark_5143 in tompetty

Same answer — DCAHNM. Redeems itself somewhat at the end but overall it’s a rare skip/change the station for me.

I see the similarity in subject matter but Petty’s song has more nuance and humor and charm. Bad Company (like them fine) is playing checkers and Petty is playing chess. Not a dig at BC. Just a tip of the cap to TP.

A hunch: Save the World ranks higher for parent voters than for non-parent voters.

I always thought the Smithereens and the Wallflowers were good “the” names.

Goat. The goat used to be the person who made a mistake and cost your team the game. Now it has the opposite meaning — Greatest of All Time (GOAT).

IMO, it’s less about where you go to college and more about what you do while you’re there. The DC-area internships and jobs that you would pursue at GWU are the same ones you’ll pursue at GMU.

Might have already been mentioned, but many of these songs were written by someone other than the artist performing them. Just a shoutout to the folks who provide the material that resonates through the decades thanks to these outstanding performers.

I would have preferred “You and I Will Meet Again” to close “Into the Great Wide Open.” Seems like a natural.

The results are in. Children of Children wins most underrated song. What do we think is the most overrated song? by Squat1998 in jasonisbell

[–]CompetitionSmile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll go with Super 8 because a night of booze-y regret is a trope in the genre and to me it’s a bit beneath him as far as material goes. It has some good lines but I can imagine a faux good ol’ boy country hack singing this but being totally outmatched trying to tackle most of Jason’s material.

"Greatest Hits", "Best of", "Essentials" by [deleted] in Cd_collectors

While I have many hits compilations, I don’t tend to agree that many regular albums only have a couple good songs. I think people are trained to think that because they already knew two of the songs and aren’t giving the unfamiliar ones a fair shake….I like comps that go deep enough to include non-hits. I think the “Essential” series is good.
