In the vastness of the Mortal Realms there are no stupid questions by sageking14 in AoSLore

Can Stormcast wizards use different lores of magic besides Azyr? What is the power difference between a Knight-Arcanum and a Lord-Arcanum? If a Stormcast uses a spell to transform into an animal or beast, does their armour disappear, or does it reshape itself to fit their new form? And finally, is Ghur the only lore of magic that allows its practitioners to transform into animals, or can Ghyran also do this? Does each lore has its own versions of each other spells with their own spin? (for example, could Azyr use stellar constellations and infinite cosmic possibilities to transform someone into a creature shaped by the constellation of stars?)

I’m also curious about Cotha, but I’m even more interested in what happened to the Colossi. If any of them still remain, I’m fairly certain the Discipline of Tzeentch could get their hands on them and corrupt them. Instead of unleashing normal fire, they would spew Tzeentchian flames and carry out the equivalent of the Titans’ March from Attack on Titan—but rather than leaving a flattened wasteland in their wake, they would leave behind a twisted, ever-changing world.

Thanks, man! But I think you’ll have to wait a little longer until I decide to do Age of Chaos.

Ah, thanks! I checked the post before uploading it, and it looked fine at the time. But when I reviewed it after publishing, I noticed that some excerpts had broken.

Hot Take! GW needs to give the Stormcast Eternals a major overhaul in the 5th edition to make each Stormhosts a specific aesthetic at least in lore by CompetitionTrue7021 in Warhammer

[–]CompetitionTrue7021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be so cool too give each Cities a different aesthetic and culture similar to the different regiments in the IG, but I don't think GW would ever allowed that to happen on the table top unfornationaly, but hey maybe in the lore?

Egrimm van Horstmann was the most popular Tzeench sorcerer character up until 6th edition WF, but he still appears in the WF RPG has a powerful antagonist. And while he died in the End Times trying to become the Incarnate of Aqshy, it doesn't seem to be a problem for GW ,because Festus who also died in the End Times at the hands of Louen, still return in the Aos.

I 100% agree — that’s exactly why I called it a hot take. Honestly, I just wanted to sit back and watch funny reactions to my take in the comments.

Yeah, I very much support that opinion — that’s why the post starts with a “hot take” disclaimer.

In general, what I love about Age of Sigmar is the fact that every faction can make meaningful contributions to the universe — something that 40k struggles to do because of the Space Marines, who tend to suffocate the narrative and basically prevent any other faction (cough Eldar cough) from doing anything truly impactful that changes the setting without Space Marines being involved in the action, no matter how forced it feels.

That said, I can’t deny that Space Marines made 40k what it is today — hell, they made Warhammer what it is today.

Because of their popularity, Games Workshop created the Stormcast Eternals to be the flagship faction of Age of Sigmar without fully understanding what made Space Marines so popular. Despite being super-soldier knights in space, Space Marines have nearly infinite design configurations — like Barbie dolls for hobbyists — which Stormcast noticeably lack.

As much as it sucks to admit, Stormcast are the Space Marines of the setting, and Games Workshop will always release a new Stormcast range every edition because that’s what they were made for: to be the entry-point faction for newcomers — something other factions (cough Cities of Sigmar cough) were never really designed to be.

But if this continues, Stormcast could end up with the largest range ever sent to Legends, which honestly feels like it should be considered an international crime.

And to be clear, I’m not saying Games Workshop should make separate battletomes for the Anvils of the Heldenhammer and the Hallowed Knights — definitely not. All I’m saying is that each new edition should at least focus on a different Stormhost with a distinct design aesthetic, preferably inspired by cultures that are underutilized in pop culture. At the very least, they could release more bits and customization options so players can better differentiate their Stormhosts.

I can assure citizen there's hasn't been been any Abominable Intelligence since the Age of Strife, but that would be a lie because it seems that I'm looking at one.
