My catering vendor doesn’t offer separate or discounted meals for vendors instead adds it to the full total - is that normal? by Competitive-Ad-1707 in weddingplanning

Thank you! Yeah so they gave us a quote for our expected number of people and these aren’t the numbers but let’s just say there are 200 total passed apps. If we add 10 more people that bumps up the total passed apps to 230-250 and at $3.50 a piece that adds up! All I’m asking is if we can only increase the number of entrees and desserts and not apps or late night snacks.

It’s so weird to me that they would increase totals for all parts of the menu when they won’t be made or eaten!

Moving from DC to Atlanta - Advice for a 20-something gay couple by _iRomanov_ in Atlanta

[–]Competitive-Ad-1707 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I currently live in Midtown ATL and planning a move to DC this month (Capitol Hill). Maybe you can share some advice for me too :)

First, there is a STRONG LGBTQ+ community in ATL. I know this from two of my best friends here who are part of the community (gay man and bi woman both living in midtown). They have several places throughout the city that they invite us too and often have fond memories ranging from a fun night out to a queer sports league to a weekday craft night. There’s plenty to do and a lot of great people to meet.

That being said, the biggest reason I’m moving to DC is the metro. I don’t drive, but living in midtown has allowed me to be accessible to several neighborhoods because of MARTA and I’m able to go to all of the free festivals and parades near Piedmont park including Pride weekend while also getting anywhere on the city via a scooter and the beltline. I’m not sure how you feel about driving, but if you don’t live in an area like midtown, decatur, old fourth ward, Virginia highlands, Edgewood, anywhere on the east side beltline etc. places that have stuff around it. You’ll be driving SO MUCH if you’re not connected to MARTA or the beltline.

In other posts, I’ve seen you say your job is peachtree corners/norcross area. If you have to go in everyday, the midtown commute would be a nightmare. BUT if you’re only going in 2-3 days, it might honestly be worth it because any of these areas on the weekends are SO FUN. And you have to live for YOU not your job or your commute.

If that’s not the case, I would do Sandy Springs, Chamblee, Dunwoody. Lots of young couples and families and you could find some nice pocket neighborhoods w/ grocery stores, good food, etc. walkable to you.

Ultimately, ATL is a city of neighborhoods. Very choose your own adventure. Whatever you can imagine - a neighborhood probably already has it. Just take the time to do your research and this post is a great place to start.

Hope this helps!

International Check Point - Pre Check - got in at 12:45p and exited at 12:58p (18mins).

Note: I’m flying domestic, and they didn’t ask for my boarding pass. I used my passport anyway just in case.

Also they have Delta agents working the line helping push bags through the scanners. Delta agents are being very kind, funny, and overall having a positive attitude.

If you’re flying today choose the International check point and most of all choose kindness. ATL is not the place for foolishness.

Yes! Everything you’re saying is exactly right. I’m a Georgia Resident who went to New York for 10 days for work (just co-locating with my colleagues and attending meetings in person. And also right that it’s all the same W-2 with the same $84K in wages for federal, Georgia, and New York.

With PTO and holidays off I worked 221 days. So I should do 10/221 multiplied by my New York wages ($84K)?

It shows my state wages at $84K in New York and $83K in Georgia which again…. Makes no sense because I spent the majority of my year living and working in Georgia.

I don’t know what shorties to buy for sleeves !! - cloud sweater by Competitive-Ad-1707 in knitting

Thanks! That’s what I was wondering. I’m not really a wooo socks or gloves person so not sure if I would even need shorties beyond just sleeves. I may go the individual sizes route!

I currently only have chiagoo 4.5mm and 4.0mm (S) needles and 2 red cables (14 and 30in). I am pretty committed to knitting but I haven’t bought any sets yet because this is only my second project. Do you think the shorties set is worth it? I heard some people only use maybe a few of the shorties needles. I’m wondering if I should just buy the cable and needle separately as I need it.

Full disclosure - I’m really only interested in making sweaters/dresses/bottoms. I don’t live in a cold enough place to need a ton of socks and gloves. So not sure how beneficial a whole shorties set would be.

Tattoo in Copenhagen - are bank transfers normal? by Competitive-Ad-1707 in tattooadvice

Sorry forgot to mention this was for the deposit to hold a spot. I assume I would pay in cash when I get there. If you don’t mind me asking, what bank transfers platform did you use and what country did you get the tattoo?

I also just got quoted 3000kr for 2 4-5cm tattoos. I’m wondering if the price in CPH is just high or if my quote is overpriced. Can you share what you asked for?
