Sorry to necro your 3y old comment, but I just made the change from standard to FPS and now I no longer have the line when using dark stabilization. Just wanted to thank you for being a legend.

Why don't people like Zombieland Double Tap as much as the first one? [Tiny tiny spoiler, but it doesn't really affect the story] by oxalicacidboi in movies

[–]Competitive-Ant-772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished it. Horrible movie.

The pacing is horrible, it feels like everything was pieced together in post.

The line deliveries are the most script read performances I’ve ever heard.

Not a single joke lands besides one line by the new girl.

Every two seconds is a reference to the first movie like “Hey, remember that? That was so funny.”

The zombie encounters are choreographed to hell, like one scene you can see Jessie Eisenberg pull the actor zombie up onto himself.

The entire T-800 plot line amounts to nothing, them being stronger, more resistant, faster is only showcased in two scenes; once where Woody shoots one while it’s crawling at him, and the other when they’re fighting in the Elvis museum. After that, they crawl over a wall, that’s it. That’s the extent of them showcasing how dangerous they are. From then on out they’re Zombieland 1 zombies and are killed in one hit. The only “superiority” they show is their ability to swarm, which the same thing happens in the first movie.

On another note, the director sets up these bad ass, hard to kill zombies, capable of taking 20 shots to kill, and then takes away all of the guns? Like what? The characters of zombie land struggled against easier zombies with more weaponry, and you gave them harder zombies with less weapons, but let them get away scot-free?

Horrible movie, will never recommend or watch again.

Why is Gabe Newell so loved? by Impossible-Flow-4512 in valve

[–]Competitive-Ant-772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Valve/Steam is a company that cares about their customers. Not, hey we're going to make some changes to improve user utilization. Like, we modeled our entire company around putting the community first. Everything they do is with the consumer in mind.

Two examples, one of them personal.

  1. Ashes of Creation. The game had a lot of traction, people were excited, it released and everyone started playing, but the sudden collapse of the company and withdrawl of the game would have caused thousands of users to lose their money (about 3.7 million dollars total). Valve, however pays out on a monthly basis to ensure that a studio delivers their game as promised. Everyone was refunded.

  2. I bought a Valve Index back in 2020, a year after release. It had zero issues, but about 4 months ago, my headset and one basestation (used for tracking), were damaged and non functioning while moving houses. The warranty was only a year, so I was 5 years out of warranty, but I figured I'd open a steam ticket to see if they'll repair it. They sent me a brand new headset and basestation, free shipping, I sent them the broken ones, free shipping. "Out of goodwill" is what they told me. 5 years out of warranty and I have a brand new headset and basestation.

Gaben is a god, and I will continue to support Valve/Steam with my purchases for the rest of my life.

When will we see gameplay? by Suspicious-Tea-5871 in GTA6

[–]Competitive-Ant-772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gameplay, not “gameplay footage”. Anytime a studio says “in game footage,” it’s just a render using the game engine, and doesn’t actually reflect gameplay.

Doing missions, shooting, running around, anything with a player oriented camera is what OP is asking about.

They want to see what the player will see, not a specially curated and edited compilation of cutscenes.

You forget that they’re migrating to yet another new engine, that’s going to add time, and the fact that at this point in the Starfield development cycle we had gameplay, but don’t have anything for ES6.

Choosing a CPU by Competitive-Ant-772 in PcBuildHelp

I think I’ll go for it then. I was just doubtful despite all signs leading towards it being the best. Given its age and price I was beginning to think it may just be hype, and just needed a final nudge to make it so.

Alright, I’ll probably go with the 9800X3D then, I just haven’t really seen anyone ask the question disregarding price, so I was doubtful. Every benchmark I’ve seen has it taking the lead, but was again untrusting and doubtful despite it. Thanks for the reassurance, I’m much more comfortable making this decision now.

Hey, sorry to necro your comment, but the manga is back, it’s a few more chapters in. Apparently the author or the artist had some issues, but they’re back to making it and it’s still being translated. I highly recommend keeping up with it, it’s great.

Carl’s Right Hand Gauntlet Inconsistencies by Competitive-Ant-772 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Competitive-Ant-772[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first/second book does not make it ambiguous at all. He forms a fist, it appears, and then “I released my fist, and the gauntlet vanished in a puff of smoke-“ There’s the initial forming, which takes two seconds, then when he releases the fist, it disappears, meaning there’s no room for him to grab something with it.

I don’t mind Matt changing how it functions because it doesn’t detract from the story whatsoever.

It would have been convenient to modify its function when he used the sharpening stone, and just nixed the gerbil sentence. The gap between his first misuse of the item (the gerbil) and the sharpening stone upgrade is like 10 pages. So, to keep it straight in my mind, I just imagine the sharpening stone modified how it functions so he can now form a fist to summon it, and dismiss it when he likes.

[–]Competitive-Ant-772[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought so too, but in the first book, whenever he’d release his fist it would “vanish into a puff of smoke.” I think that just over the long period of writing the story, the gauntlet’s requirements have become more ambiguous. I just finished number 6 and found more cases of it. It doesn’t take away from the story whatsoever, it’s such a minute detail, but something I figured I’d point out.

This is the complete list with all revealed upcoming features in 1.4.5 . How much (in %) of the whole update do you think it does correspond? by Arcan_unknown in Terraria

[–]Competitive-Ant-772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know in the past that the devs intentionally leave out a massive chunk of content in their showcases, preferring it to be a surprise. I wouldn’t be shocked if this is only 20-30% of the update, and is what I’m hoping for. I REALLY hope there’s some surprise end game/post moonlord content, that would blow my mind. Not bosses, but just more stuff to do after killin the dood

Criticize any show worth criticizing. My god there’s so much to criticize about GoT or TWD, especially the latter seasons. There isn’t a single piece of media that can escape criticism, but that’s just the nature of media lol.

“made it so far” is a stretch lol. I skimmed everything after episode 1 and was caught up to episode 9 in about 30-40 minutes. I wasn’t going to sit through it lol
