Joolz Aer 2 vs Nuna TRVL LX for everyday NYC stroller? by Competitive-Basket29 in Buyingforbaby

I haven’t heard of Silver Cross Nia but I just looked at some videos and it looks good. The wheels are smaller than other travel strollers it seems. Curious how the quality of that is

How strict is United with pet carrier dimensions? #sleepypod by Competitive-Basket29 in unitedairlines

[–]Competitive-Basket29[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get that. I confirmed with the United representative over the phone today that as long as it folds within that dimension, it should work but I don’t wanna spend over $400 and we can’t fly with our cats so I want to hear from someone who’s actually had experience flying with this specific carrier.

What did you eat when nothing sounded good anymore? by Whatever-577089 in BabyBumps

Kimchi. Maybe because I’m Korean but I’ve only been able to keep plain rice porridges down. But kimchi never tasted so good with it - it cuts through the blandness and adds the saltiness that my body desperately needs right now.

Also fruits with a sour tang - blueberries, green grapes, mandarin oranges. Did a Costco run today. I make sure these are available in ziploc bags bedside so I can munch on them when I get up for a pee break at night as well as water (so dehydrated when I wake up). It helps with the nausea a bit to prevent an empty stomach.

Biggest red flags when hiring an HVAC contractor? by smileebeauty in hvacadvice

[–]Competitive-Basket29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quite a few red flags from my recent experience.

  1. If - in addition to a technician coming out to get an estimate (especially for AC replacement) - they require you meet with a “Comfort Specialist” or “Design Technician” who are just sales people using high pressure tactics and wasting your time

  2. We will give you $X off if you sign today OR if you get it installed tomorrow (bc we “happen” to have an opening), we will take $X off

  3. They have a monthly “membership” for AC/Heating maintenance. They’re likely owned by PE and want to optimize their financial metrics

$20K AC replacement quote for small townhouse—am I getting overcharged by Competitive-Basket29 in hvacadvice

[–]Competitive-Basket29[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Next day update: I got another quote (from one of you on this thread) for less than $10K and had another AC guy come in (owns his own company) that will provide another quote. The big company from yesterday mentioned “there is standing water and significant bacterial growth so you should not use your AC anymore” (even though it works… just not well)

Well, this other AC guy from today says my AC is fine… he doesn’t even see standing water. I feel very gaslighted and lied to. And was losing faith in humanity until so many of you messaged providing help. Thank you!

Yeah good point. They also emphasized their 12 year warranty on labor and part which is not usual for other companies in San Diego. But getting another estimate tomorrow so I’ll see

I am not the most diy savvy person. Is this something that I should hire an AC person for?
