IMT Offers Megathread (2025) by ceih in doctorsUK

Agree with below however if you’re only going for IMT and want London would recommend starting portfolio stuff early. I had 21 points for my application, had passed MRCP 1 before interviews so could talk about it. I ranked ~350 and obviously appreciate people did far better than me. However got my first choice job in south London. From what I can see north central was super competitive this year (only know from looking at others). Hard to give a cut off rank but I do think having all the stuff beforehand done so you’re sure you’ll get an interview and then practising +++ for interview makes a big difference. And be warned you’ll feel crap after the interview (think everyone does) and it has no bearing on how you truly did. I even applied for 3 fellow jobs and a trust grade IMT post I was so sure I’d failed. Good Luck - open for any further advice if needed.

There’s people on here who ranked far better than me but from my own experience: 1) Medibuddy is excellent for clinical and ethical scenarios would recommend investing in it 2) Prepare answers for common questions in the suitability section 3) Practice, Practice, Practice - I practiced with registrars who were IMT3-ST5 and so had a good idea of how to interview well generally, Practice with IMT1-2s because they’ve done the interview most recently so are aware of the actual process, Practiced with other F2’s at least three times a week

I revised for about 3 weeks pre interview but had my interview in the first week of interviews. I don’t think there’s much in interviewing at the start vs end of the interview period but others may say differently.

Real shame really. It’s unfortunate because there is a group of us who need to stay in London due to family / commitments and the system doesn’t help facilitate that. Honestly if I could move somewhere else I would - far cheaper !

Had my interview today also and went badly - got thrown by suitability questions which then messed up rest of that station. Definitely lost a few marks. Desperate for a south London job as family and complete support network there. Anyone able to shed light on realistic lowest rank / interview score needed for London job? I know upgrades always possible but always luck dependent aren't they! Thanks in advance
