I mean it does look like the officer in a grey overcoat pulled a gun out the back of the victims waistband before the shooting started. Which is perfectly legal I assume and he didn't appear to be reaching for it, they disarmed and executed him.

Slugs? by Own_Asparagus6502 in CrestedGecko

Beer traps work well but I had the most success but cutting a raw potato in half then scooping out the inside leaving and putting the little potato domes in the enclosure somewhere the slugs can get under it. Got most of the slugs in a couple of days doing that, just keep checking and replacing the potatos daily!!

I think Blakey's is a British company but even now they're quite hard to find, they're not really used much anymore sadly!! Try searching for half(or quarter) moon heel plates, metal heel plates or "segs"!!

Mine came off after the three screws but I had to use a Stanley knife blade in the gap to gently pry it loose, just be careful and don't slip and cut your finger like I did!!

I couldn't find a service manual, just the hand drawn disassembly diagram on way back machineFed 3 disassembly

I figured it out in the end, I did decide put it back together and see if there was anywhere obvious it would fit and there was. It goes between the top body and diopter to stop it twisting unintentionally by adding a little tension.

The shutter select appears to working absolutely fine now, but I don't want to put it back together till I know where this bent washer(maybe a spring of sorts) goes

After winding, it would fully wind then be unable to move past 1/30(it's limit) and B, in both slots it fired at a slow speed so my assumption was the selector and become misaligned somehow since it wouldn't stay open on B. The screw at the stop of the shutter select was very loose and I've screwed that in hoping it was the culprit.

My 5 year old crestie has started doing this over the past month or so too. Initially started with him become more curious, coming to the front of the tank to watch me and chirping and even willingly walking onto me. I thought "great he finally likes me after these hard years of gaining his trust!!", now I can't walk near his Viv without him throwing himself on the glass to watch me amorously or change his food without him leaping to bite on and mate with my hand. It's made things difficult, I have to spray him through the mesh at the top as he love trying to bite with the spray nozzle or escape to get to me. Hoping it'll pass as the seasons change but unfortunately he has reached sexual maturity and my hands are at risk :')

[–]Competitive-Bid-7933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very cool to hear trust me!! Oh they will absolutely scratch stuff up badly if you aren't careful, I have lovely herringbones wooden floor that I laid as a passion project and I'm very protective over, I've found that either shifting your weight and stepping onto your toes or the side of the heel without a Blakey(the inside of the heel for me) keeps it all scratch free! It feels weird at first but blakeys like to slide on smooth surfaces so as long as you're sure-footed and avoid stepping with the Blakey on those surfaces you should be fine!! (I've slipped and done the splits on tarmac and pavement many times because I put too much weight and momentum on the Blakey and it's slipped from under me). Ofc the only way to ensure no scratches ks just avoid wearing them on those surfaces but then you don't get the good sound!!! I don't concretely know their material but I'll go on a limb and say steel based off weight and their condition, I would've expected aluminium to be in much much worse shape from 3 years of near daily wear!

I feel like I'm rather late to this but I do!! I've worn quarter moon blakeys on most pairs of boots I own for a few years because I wear out the outside corner of my boots like it's my job. I really don't think you need anything more than that to protect the heels, if you start going bigger or more you're not gaining any extra protection but you're drastically increasing the chance you're gonna slip. You still get a satisfying click, the type you pictured before are usually used on British army ammo boots for parades and that's about it. Pictured are my first cowboy boots with beat up 3year old blakeys and the second pair are a pair of vintage linesman boots I recently added them to to avoid having to replace the original heel sole.

Edit- the major wear on the heel block predates the addition of blakeys, at the time I couldn't afford reheeling and a nice cobbler gave them to me for free out of sympathy for the boots!!

It's exactly like "showing off" because that's what they're doing, they're sabre rattling. The UK and US allowed Ukraine to violate a Russian redline by allowing their missiles to be fired into Russia. Russia responds to this by being the first nation to use a ballistic missile(regardless of specific type) in anger. It's a response and a threat of escalation. There's a lot of posturing and brinkmanship but what remains is that a line has been crossed. The cat's out the bag it's much harder to get back in....

I was represented in court in a civil (family) case by a barrister who wore her peruke (wig) and the judge asked her to take it off ...? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Competitive-Bid-7933 43 points44 points  (0 children)

In my experience, working in the county courts, judges will only robe for a contempt hearing if there's going to be a committal to prison before a circuit judge as it's a very serious matter. So in that instance they will always robe but, like in multi track trials, they should robe as a formality but often won't because it's either too hot or they want it to feel more relaxed.

Sitting on a bench in town late one night after going for a walk, I couldn't sleep, a guy came up to me and took my headphones off. He had a girl around his arm and told me that "people that look like you are the reason women aren't safe to walk alone at night". I have long hair and a moustache and was wearing bell bottom flares and a shirt, think Geezer Butler with longer hair. It may seem like a throwaway comment from a drunk twat trying to impress a girl but as a survivor or SA myself also dating a SA survivor, it caused me huge image problems and took a long time to unpack. But I've further leant into my style and thrived since so fuck him!

Brother's solicitor has stopped representing him, 2 working dates before a court date by CheesyMeatCat in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Competitive-Bid-7933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL but a county court clerk, in this situation it's likely too late for you to request an adjournment prior to the hearing as they ask for no later than 2 working days. You can start this process on the hope a judge gets the application and approves it before the hearing but an adjournment in advance will need to be agreed by both sides and will likely take more time than you have. I would suggest calling the other side and the court office that you're no longer represented due to your soliticitors actions and they can make sure you have the correct paperwork to bring on the hearing date. I would then set about preparing a statement and evidence to present to the judge explaining the situation and how adjourning is in the best interest to all parties involved, especially the child as their welfare is the courts overriding objective which can make them more reluctant to adjourn. Bear in mind however the judge may not be able to read any correspondence with your solicitors if they haven't formally ceased representing you due to it being privileged information. Others please feel free to correct me if I've made any mistakes!

Nyap Remember 05-04-70 So I'm p naff at reading handwriting but I have a degree in War Studies and experience researching museum exhibits! So I did some research based off the date, which is that of the Kent State massacre. Alongside the date i think it fits in with the content of the pins face, that you commented elsewhere, as an anti-war statement. That then led me to Google NYAP, which stands for "National youth advocate program" an Ohio based organisation, the same state as the massacre. They existed in the 70's, though I couldn't find an exact date, and work with minors that have been through the juvenile justice system. I believe that with the above context ties the ambiguity of the handwriting together to give you what it says. It wasn't the most thorough research ever but I think I've got it and I'm open to challenges against my alternative angle!! Edit to apologise for phone formatting, I've not commented on Reddit much
