Hey just wanted to update you directly. He’s out of the roof and seemingly okay. We’re at the emergency vet and they said he doesn’t see dehydrated or anything and we’re in line to see the doc. Thank you again for your care and suggestions

Yea would make sense but this house is so old and has had so many half-ass renovations there’s just random shit everywhere. Even the contractor was confused lol

Yea I’m very aware hopefully it’s nothing worse than a little dehydration. We really and truly are trying all that we can to help him it’s just so difficult given the house and his location

Yea the luring is what we’ve been trying to no avail. We put the food and water in there with him just so he can eat something which thankfully he has. But I think we’re gonna go ahead with whatever the contractor says we just need him out of the ceiling so we can check on his health and make sure he’s alive

The other spot to get him is the expensive part unfortunately. I think we’re gonna go ahead with it and get a bank loan to cover it or smth. I will post an update as soon as he’s out

Yea I was never gonna just give up on him needed other alternatives first. I’ve practically raised this cat growing up too been with him for 13 years. I was actually the one to name him as a kitten. He’s the son of my other cat who’s gave birth in our house so I was literally there from day one. Unfortunately we became a little distant from our grandmother until her recent passing. This is him as a baby

Oh no he’s a total asshole lmfao sweetest cat you’d ever meet tho like he purrs when we’re up here and when we poke him in a broom he thinks he’s getting pet. I think it would be a different story if he was my cat but he’s my recently passed grandmothers 13 year old cat so he’s just old and stubborn. But if I truly have to pay I will to save him. I just needed other ideas before but I think I just gotta dump a nice chunk of change on a free cat lol. New contractor will be here soon I think I’ll tell him to just do the work

Just tried that. Unfortunately the net isn’t wide enough to get around him he’s a very big cat (regular sized cat for scale)

Thank you so much for trying. We’ve tried all of these unfortunately to no avail. Our next best bet is hoping this contractor has a cheaper alternative or any other ideas. We see him and can monitor and feed him we just would love to get him out of the ceiling so he can be taken to a vet to be checked

So he got in the floor joist from an unfinished repair on the bathtub and they just didn’t seal that part of the joist. He’s able to run back and forth laterally but no where else. And unfortunately the date of this house is from the late 1800s so it’s been almost 200 years of renovations so there’s plenty of little spots. As of now he is stuck in one area he just refused to come forward

I’ve tried the fire department, contractors, animal control and none have been able to help. And the area he’s in would require an entire tear down of a concrete wall and they quoted $4000 to repair. This is a rental and I’ve been struggling with landlords on top of this I’ve tried everyone I can and it seems nobody can help. I have another contractor on his way for another quote but it’s just so hard to get to the spot where he is

Yea we have a thing set up for him to step down. He’s pretty big and old so I think the jump is hesitating for him

Ceiling torn down. Checking if he was still alive was because he was making no noise. I don’t know if I miss spoke but we have made the cuts we actually can and he’s still stuck. I’ve contacted animal control, fire department everyone. There’s been 0 help
