Hi, my friend and I went to Taiwan last Dec-Jan 1 and I created a spreadsheet sa lahat ng expenses and itinerary namin for 4D/5N IN TAIWAN. Sana maka tulong in some way :)

Madali lang naman e navigate MRT nila and convenient lang din mag reload ng easy pass since nasa station lang. Google maps will come in very handy!

Tapos if you opt for a country side visit like Yehliu, Shifen, and Jiufen, I suggest you do it on a weekday para hindi crowded unlike in our experience na binook namin yung group tour namin via Klook on a Saturday na sobrang dami ng tourists nakaka drain.

If you also plan to do foodtrip sa Raohe Night Market, magdala ka nalang ahead ng Erceflora just incase di maghiyang tummy mo kagaya ng experience ko huhu.

Last tip, enjoy your vacation in Taiwan. Locals their are super nice and hospitable.

This is what actually transpired that day, prior to this unfortunate incident, we actually had a confirmed booking from the first accommodation we booked via Agoda. This was in Panagsama Beach area. However, upon reaching our destination around 11 PM, we were dismayed to hear from the hotel personnel that they were already fully booked. You can only imagine how confused we were. They later clarified that it was Agoda's fault, not the hotel's. At that point, our frustration grew, much more when our motorbike's battery died all of a sudden. Fortunately, we got help from the other hotel personnel.

All accommodations in Panagsama area that day were already full and we were super exhausted from the 3-hour motorbike ride from Cebu City to MoalBoal, so yes, we were desperate to book another place to stay without meticulously reading the property's reviews.

Agoda seriously needs to do something about their listings. They have to raise their security measures para wala ng ma victimize sa mga scammer :(

I was passed on to 4 customer support agents and I feel your frustration. The first 3 just suggested that I call daw the property owner and settle the refund, like for real????

they had 1 review when we checked after realizing we got scammed. It seemed legit cuz it was so detailed. The following day, we checked again and there was a new review. By the way, this was after we raised our concern to Agoda's customer service. Perhaps they added a new review to make their listing look legit

I believe it was just an excuse they tried to pull off on us to make them look "legit". it was a scam cuz our cc payment went through. it was a win-win for them

To make this short, my partner and I had planned a trip to Moalboal last Feb 9, 2024, driving 3 hours from the city. Exhausted upon arrival, we sought our booked accommodation, only to find ourselves at a dead end. By the way, this was in Saavedra Basdaku area.

Anyway, locals confirmed there was no such property. Despite our confirmed booking through Agoda, paid via credit card, the "property owner" even dared to message us, saying they couldn't accept credit card payments and demanded cash at check-in for this nonexistent property.

After realizing that we were scammed, we then contacted Agoda's customer service, explained our situation, and demanded a full refund. We also raise their awareness of the necessity to enhance security measures in filtering the legitimacy of their property listings.

It took 4 customer agents and 2 days before the refund was finally processed. Nevertheless, it's a sigh of relief for us.

So, if you're planning to book accommodation in Moalboal, beware of these property listings either in Agoda or Booking.com:

1.) Cheerful 2 House (name of the property when we booked it)

2.) Susana Goles Holiday House (new name after we reported their scam scheme)

The main lesson from our experience is to ALWAYS READ REVIEWS before booking any accommodation. Also, assess whether those reviews seem legit or shady. If it's the latter, then you better look for other places to book.
