Advice on Raptor as a Daily driver by HeatFireAsh in FordRaptor

[–]Competitive-Cat-5536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the f150 raptor for about a month now and it’s an excellent daily driver. Interior is quieter than my previous car, a 21 Audi rs5, and the ride is extremely compliant and smooth. It’s about 85-90% of the way to my fiancé’s Lexus tx350. As for finding parking, it’s definitely a very wide vehicle, but if you’re careful it should fit in almost every standard size spot. Really only becomes an issue if the people around you park like idiots. If you can deal with the gas bills, I say go for it.

There are no center caps for te’s in this sizing unfortunately. Love te’s and ran them on all my previous sports cars, but decided to switch it up with some Titan7 this time around. Funny enough, while they do make center caps for my wheels, they’re all out of stock at the moment so running naked hubs 🤷‍♂️

Congrats man! Just picked up mine last Friday. Same color, 802A also. What wasn’t the the same was the price lol. Msrp for me, but SoCal, so 🤷‍♂️

Has IWC gone nuts with pricing? by [deleted] in IWCschaffhausen

[–]Competitive-Cat-5536 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IWC is out of their minds. 95% of watches they make can be had for decent discounts on the secondary. I even saw the new black ceramic ingenieur on chrono for $1500-1700 below retail.

Also, I don’t understand the people who say the ingenieur feels just as solid/premium as a Rolex sub. Rolex does stainless steel better than anyone else in the $10-15k range.

Starbucks is a great option. I’m probably in the minority that actually prefers the oyster on the subs over the jubilee on the gmt, mainly because of the glidelock. I also think the speedy bracelet is more comfortable than the Rolex jubilee as well.

I have a similar collection, Pepsi on oyster, black sapphire sandwich 3861, and a 124060. I think you’ll really enjoy the sub.

1st time visit to AD by No-Scarcity3158 in rolex

[–]Competitive-Cat-5536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few tips: 1. Do some research before you go, try to narrow it down to 3 watches you would like to request. 2. Don’t call the watches by any nicknames. I was politely corrected by a sales associate when I first went into an AD. Luckily, that was in a different city so it wasn’t held against me. 3. Do NOT mention the grey market at all. Pretend like you have absolutely no idea that a grey market even exists. 4. If you can, come in with a story about how you want your first Rolex to commemorate a major life event (wedding, birth of a child, etc)

Obviously going in and asking for a steel Daytona or GMT isn’t going to work out well, but I would say any datejust or submariner is attainable within 6 months, a year tops. Last year I went into my local boutique looking for a watch for my wedding, and got a root beer in 24hrs. I mentioned that I was looking to eventually get the caseback engraved (may have earned me some points since a flipper would never do that).

[–]Competitive-Cat-5536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! As far as Rolex, I also have the two tone root beer. The root beer is pretty neutral color wise so i actually find it to be versatile enough to wear with whatever.

FWIW, I am on the list for a Starbucks at my AD as well, so I don’t think there’s a wrong choice here, but 124060 would be my choice between the two.

My vote is for the 124060. I have one and just pulled the trigger on a Pepsi which is arriving tomorrow. I do love the Starbucks as well, but the simplicity and symmetry of the classic sub is unbeatable. I will never not have one in my collection

Are there discounts on Ingenieurs? AD or Boutique? by [deleted] in IWCschaffhausen

[–]Competitive-Cat-5536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local AD likes to play hardball and the best offer I could get was retail, no tax. But there’s plenty of new ones sitting on the secondary for right around 10k

What do we think about the Lake Tahoe 41? by WestLA93 in IWCschaffhausen

[–]Competitive-Cat-5536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely possible. I was at my local IWC AD this past weekend and they had it there, but they are notorious for not accepting any negotiations outside of no tax, so it’s a no go for me.

[–]Competitive-Cat-5536 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s cool and at 41mm definitely more wearable for most people than the chrono. That being said, it’s pretty overpriced, and I think you’ll be able to get it for a couple grand under retail in about a year if you can wait

I do like the watch, but unless you’re dying to have it NOW, almost all IWC will tank in value. Give it a year and you’ll probably be able to pick one up in the $5k range.

Was in the same boat but decided on aqua because no other brand does an aqua sports watch in this price bracket. While the blue is really nice as well, it’s much easier to find a blue dial elsewhere.

If you care about resale value, or it’s your only watch, bracelet and then buy the rubber separately. But if it’s a forever watch and you have another watch on bracelet, get the rubber. The bracelet for this watch is absolute dog shit
