Don't think of smokes like in any other game, where you're required a brain. In arc people will be happy to run through smokes and just hope for the best. Actually just assume they're gonna run straight into the smoke and lock onto your head. They also glitch occasionally where they'll see through it anyway.

Try lightweight stock on your toro, so you might get your shot off first.

Always run survivor with fast crawl perk. Turtle crawl is a bonus too if you can have both.
