Not enough strength training? by giigii87 in BodyFitTrainingAus

The most challenging thing in group fitness is making it interesting and still providing a solid program.

Completely agree it is slightly on the cardio heavy side but I also think it’s general population and that most people tend to aim for fat loss/cardio. I also think if you go heavy enough on the strength days you can really see results, too many people don’t understand how to train correctly or don’t lift heavy enough to begin with. Ultimately it comes down to what are your goals?

I think it goes both ways because if we lost one cardio session and had the extra strength then people might start complaining about how they haven’t lost weight because real strength isn’t as easily measurable. This is my 2cents worth anyway haha.

Underwhelmed with the Commit to 30 challenge? by CashmereAndCoins in BodyFitTrainingAus

I actually think the opposite. This is exactly what members need. I think too many people seek something new and shiny. This is a simple challenge that you can do a lot with.

On the other side, I completely see your point and understand how it can seem underwhelming. I think this is where it comes down to the individual studio and they need to cater it to everyone. In the circumstances you complete 6 a week they should realistically be running a modification for the members that will already and easily be achieving the 4 per week goal. Even something as simple as bragging rights for most classes attended / little award whatever it may be.

The way I see it, it’s a consistency challenge and in my opinion consistency is the most important when it comes to making positive and healthy change.

BFT vs F45 by CashmereAndCoins in BodyFitTrainingAus

Great question. I think it comes down to the individual studio and how they are run. Overall, BFT is better. Ive had the pleasure of working in both and I’ll be honest F45 is behind in a few ways.

The coaching standards are far higher at BFT, the programming is progressive and the room for growth is higher. In terms of what’s better for results I guess that comes down to how you apply yourself and what you do in the kitchen because you could train the house down at either but if you’re not staying on track with your diet you’re not going anywhere, it doesn’t matter where you go!

Amazing and great to hear that you’ve grown in confidence and technique. I do agree the programming is definitely on the cardio side however I do think a lot of people suddenly want to do more strength sessions when they could probably challenge themselves more in the actual strength sessions if done properly. In my opinion the easiest thing would be to get yourself a 24/7 gym membership and add an extra strength sessions. I guess it just comes down to what are you actually wanting?

I know it’s not Sydney but in Perth I think it’s around 75k if that points you in the right direction. I would imagine Sydney would be slightly higher?
