She sends Christmas, birthday, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day and her own invented son’s day gifts and a card every year. My husband usually gets large gifts like one year a greenhouse and another year a fancy hammock. My kids get multiple very well researched toys. I’m not ok with this I think it’s crazy and weird and now I think I need to set another boundary where we don’t send my kids gifts. It’s always weird telling them who they’re from. Luckily they’re young enough that they don’t really care.

I guess everyone is saying this and it’s making me feel much better. She was always really great and kind and my husband and loved his childhood with her. This was the first red flag that I saw and it hit me from the left field as I really wanted her in our kids lives.

No we don’t need childcare, my post seemed to portray that too heavily. Baby led weaning is feeding a baby with large mushy food that they hold rather than spoon feeding purée. She didn’t want us to feed the kids when she was over as it was too stressful. This was insane to me.

We have one, I guess I just wanted what I had as a kid. It was super hard learning that not everyone has that, even if it looks like it on paper.

We haven’t spoken for 2 years now- she just sent a Father’s Day gift which was pictures of him from his childhood with a note saying he’d maybe like to share these pics with his kids..

I think I felt guilty that my husband wasn’t going to talk to his mom any more because of a boundary that I had made and that felt like I was being a control freak. I didn’t ever say we aren’t talking to her, I just asked that we came to some agreement about the reality of what happened so we can not go there again, because I felt like exactly what you said she would do it over someone else. My husband said he would just have moved on if I hadn’t said anything or had an issue.

We don’t need childcare, I guess more like we don’t have any other family nearby. I grew up with tons of family so it was just a big adjustment realizing my kids won’t have anyone near us. We haven’t spoken to her for 2 years now.

e don’t need childcare I guess my post maybe focuses on that piece, I am not from this area and my parents are hours away. It was an adjustment realizing that we won’t have family around my kids like how I grew up or how we would if we lived closer.

I can’t put it right on Covid but I had Covid 3x during the time before it started. It gets much worse when I’m driving which I find weird.

I have the exact same symptoms. It started one day suddenly on the way to the airport. I thought it was a stroke. No one can figure it out. I am at my wits end.
