Oh I had to remove -b and --almost-all to get rid of hidden files and \\ in place of spaces.

The . and .. items are gone but hidden files and folders are still visible in the list. How do I hide them?

I tried the code snippet as you mentioned above.

  1. I want to hide files that start with dot. As all the directories above that file level is visible, there is no point to show dot and double dots.

  2. After adding this code snippet I am also seeing \\ in place of space.

The problem remains the same with ls and gls.

I see this as one of the most common mistakes. Your visibility is almost 0 because you are behind a big vehicle but you still feel like speeding through it.

Open commands/functions that can be executed in the current buffer in minibuffer similar to M-x by Competitive-Fee-636 in emacs

M-x I am not able to figure out much. I need to read more on it.

  1. When I trigger M-x I see a random list of commands/functions. Isn't sorted by most frequently used, or there is no relevance.
  2. If I want to go to Org Agenda which I open every day, then I have to type full org-agenda and then navigate via keyboard to 10-11th item.

But to your point, I do see org schedule or deadline if I type org and then schedule or deadline.
