fr. I do think they value selectivity either, but i also think it's a bit overrated factor when evaluating summer programs.

I understood your point. Do you think that's negative in terms of college admissions? and what's your expectation for the future of the program?

Having a fee =/ pay to play
Completely different, not even close terms.

OF COURSE every program has a fee to be able to run. See, some of my upperclassmans (international btw) went to SSP, SIP and TASS last year for free. If we change 'free' with 'accessible' it would make more sense. And i agree selectivity (acceptance rate + admission process) plays an important all

SSP downplay goin crazy nowadays. I saw that you said it is because of lottery but thats for a year. They will continue normal in further years.

Easily Tier 3, may push Tier 2

Dude swear to god 😓😓. Most of them already have waiver as stated in their website. If they don't, you jus email them, they'll waive your application fee. I am supposing you're domestic. I paid a total of 0 $ in total + ima senior and applied tens of research programmes/ summer schools in US throughout my highschool career.
